Title: Help on how to wear Loveboat binders
Post by: Hologram on June 19, 2012, 09:38:02 PM
Hello everyone :) First time poster, and I come with a question.

I recently ordered my first binders ever, decided to go with Loveboat because I was worried about comfort more than flatness. I'm a bigger chested person, with the widest part of my chest being 42 in/107 cm, so I didn't really have high hopes to become completely flat but I was hoping to at least get a decent result without killing my ribcage.
Ended up ordering their 2nd Gen Jersey Mesh Short (size XL) and High Performance Velcro Short (size 3XL), both had really good reviews and I was careful picking the right sizes following the site's charts. I wondered why it was 3XL for one and XL for the other, but at first I only thought that being different models the sizing was different. However...

As soon as I got the binders in the mail, I immediately realized that with my chest shape, it would have been very difficult to bind effectively with a binder that doesn't stretch. My problem is that my breasts are naturally quite low, and saggy, so no matter how I position them inside the binder, after a while they end up slipping out from under the binder. With very uncomfortable results.

I was able to solve the problem with the High Performance by wearing a bra underneath it. Keeps everything in place and the binder still binds good (as good as it can with a person my size, I guess. Going from a triple D to an A or even B cup is a great conquest for me). I honestly love this binder and will likely get another like this in future.

But the 2nd Gen Jersey Mesh just won't keep anything in place. It doesn't FEEL TIGHT per se and I can close the velcro just fine, so I guess the sizing is not wrong, but after a few minutes of wearing it, it slowly rolls up exposing the lower part of my chest and so it's like not wearing a binder at all. I blame it on the fact it doesn't stretch, unlike the High Performance.

Before I call it a loss and I sell/donate this binder, is there something I can do to fix this? As I said these are my first binders ever, so it's highly possible that I'm just doing something wrong when wearing them/repositioning my "stuff" inside them. I am using a regular bra underneath them, if this changes anything (I don't own any sports bra).

If needed I can provide pictures.

Nobody has tried answering this, but since I have a loveboat binder, I'll give it a shot. I doubt I'll answer your question exactly. But here goes. I think they are little odd in fit. I know people who really like them and they seem to work really well. I find it strange. I think it seems comfortable in some ways(cool for one-- I've got a mesh one). But I can't stand wearing it for more than a little bit. I actually added a piece of material to mine. Which now makes it still fit odd.

I know what you mean actually by not knowing where to put "them". I have heard of wearing a sport's bra underneath, and would probably work pretty well. Actually a regular one too. Though some bras, for lack of a more decent way to put this, try to uplift and make the chesticles more prominent. This is the last thing we all want here, it's pretty safe to say. Say you would want to wear one which don't have this property. The simplest plainest thing possible is best.

I mean actually try this and see if it works better for me. Actually it works for me to put an undershirt underneath. But being that it is 95 in the shade, I don't want to do this. I don't like (i've got a short one) where it cuts off.

You might just try a cheap underworks one?
Or you can work with it.

I have heard that the jersey mesh binder isn't a very viable option for people with larger chests for the exact reason that you have said, because they are too short. I don't have that particular binder as I went for LB's sports pullover binder, but I can't think of any solution that might work for "fixing" it. Well, actually, just had one idea. You could see if adding more fabric to the shoulder straps would help in lengthening the binder, so that it ends up binding lower on your chest where you actually need it?

I actually added fabric to the velcro portion to make it a little bit bigger. I think I might do this too. I hate to give up on it given the cost. And it is cool.

You know, I've been wearing this for a few weeks now only an hour or so, and I think I'm getting used to it. It might just work out after all. It works nicely with an undershirt, and I just got some really cool (literally) ones of the stretchy type.

Well I made up my mind to get a 2nd Gen Jersey Mesh, but now I'm not so sure after reading this thread. lmao I was about to get off here, but searched one more time and found this. Now I'm confused again,... like so many others.

I'm about a 36c. I don't know whether that is considered larger or not. The guys who think the Jersey mesh binder is too short because of larger chests.. what size are you?

Does it help to lift the boobs up and out, to keep them from falling down out of the binder? What about angling the velcro to make the bottom fit tighter? Does that help.

Thanks so much for any help. I really need a new one BAD and I've been on the fence for a week now.
