Title: Voice Progression
Post by: tunak on June 27, 2012, 10:31:08 AM
Hello Ladies and Gents,

I have posted here before but i want to share my voice progression as I feel like I am stuck at sounding fake. I am extremely frustrated as I want to attain a feminine NATURAL voice but i dont know how to get there because i have no previous musical knowledge and i have no "hearing ability" when it comes to pitch this and that. If someone can please help me and direct me to the right path i will TRULLY WHOLEHEARTEDLY appreciate it :)

To me it sounds a lil too squeecky and unnatural. I dont know maybe its just me.

Id like to reach this amazing girl's result:

It doesn't sound all that bad but it sounds weak and it's obviously inflexible. You lack power big time. To enhance the quality of your pallet of expression you need to practice projection. A lot of TS, in fact most of them are overly shy and insecure about their voice so they refrain from training at an adequate volume but fact of the matter is: You need to freakin YELL, you need to teach your brain how to draw power into your upper register and retain proper resonance. Once you acquire control, power and flexibility in that upper register everything below that will be "tempered" and will sound 100% cis provided you apply basic techniques and proper constriction. I'll give you a simple but extremely powerful exercise and if you do it you'll notice improvement right off the bat.

- Take a deep breath
- Start and hold an "ahh" sound and don't stop til your out of breath
- Focus on the mask area( behind the nose) to set resonance
- Once resonance is set increase volume exponentially( until you basically yell that "ahh")
- Focus on projecting the sound outward or "outside of the head"
- Do this once a day
- Come back here to thank me and worship me as your goddess  :D

Have you seen this video by candifla?  I found it enormously helpful.

Hi Tunak,

I have watched all your videos in order to get an idea: first and foremost, I think you are very pretty and feminine. Secondly, I think your voice is fine the way it is in your first videos. I hear and see a girl when I watch those videos of you.

Now, the last one, on the other hand: I have to be brutally honest and I hope I am not offending you, but you do not sound natural, and I no longer hear a girl, now... Rather, something else with a strange voice.

Have you thought about just using your natural voice and being yourself? You are 100% a girl! Pretty cute,m at that! :-)

I hope this helps and I have not offended you.

Andrea

Just eave's dropping over here on my sisters. :)
I think the third one is most natural. An alto voice is not a bad thing in gals.

I think you sound incredible! I wouldn't worry at all, you have a fem tone, and it's consistent.
We are our own worst critic. don't be so hard on yourself!
