Title: Are there any places that get blood work done quicker than LabCorp?
Post by: yarblockos on June 28, 2012, 10:20:48 AM
Hi guys. My surgery date with Garramone is in less than two weeks, and the only things left for me to get in are my medical clearance and blood work results. I'm extremely frustrated because my doctor's office lost the first scripts I gave them (the ones from Garramone that request blood work), and we gave them new copies, but now we're cutting it very close to the deadline. The woman from the doctor's office told us that I could pick up the order on Monday, and get the blood work done (at LabCorp) the same day. However, my concern is that the results won't be ready in time - I'm supposed to fax my results to the office at least 5 days in advance, and I know LabCorp takes a few days to get back with your results.
Do hospitals and clinics do the same blood work in less time? I'm just getting so worried that I won't be able to get my surgery because my friggin' doctor's office took too long to order the blood work.

I probably sound like a right prick, but I'm just really on edge because I'd hate for one thing to screw up all my plans.

My doctor gets my lab results back in less than 24 hours.  Often I get them drawn the day of my appointment and she has them.

LabCorp usually has my report back the next day.

My labs are performed by Quest Diagnostics.

Is there any way I can take the scripts from Garramone straight to a lab without having to get an order from my doctor? Or do I absolutely have to get the order first?
