The D.C. Republican Committee on Thursday became the first GOP state party to add LGBT-inclusive language to their platform.
"We, the Republicans of the District of Columbia support the belief that all individuals, without regard to sexual orientation, are entitled to full and equal protection under the laws and the Constitution and that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect," read the plank.
Robert Turner, II, president of the D.C. chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans, earlier this month proposed a similar plank that specifically spelled out lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender when he testified before the Platform Committee.... it ultimately did not include this specific language to the plank.
Headline is wrong, there is no 'T' in that inclusion. Nothing new with that though.
Sometimes people leave the 'T' out because they just don't understand that gay and LGBTQI are not the same thing. In this case, the committee (most progressive in the US for that party) specifically excluded mention of the problem letters after they began with a proposal to include them. LCRs consistently throw T's under the party bus and then celebrate not getting hit by it themselves.

most likely a log cabin group joined then enforce and took over their agenda..
To be fair, I believe the full article makes clear that the Log Cabin Republicans group proposed the inclusive LGBT language. It isn't known if there were any transgender presenters to the committee, and no one has said that LCR had a seat on the committee. The committee determined the final language.
It is just kind of sad that LCR feels they ONLY represent gays and lesbians. They do not acknowledge the existence of transgender Republicans. From their official site:

Log Cabin works to build a stronger, more inclusive Republican Party by promoting the core values of limited government, individual liberty, personal responsibility, free markets and a strong national defense while advocating for the freedom and equality of gay and lesbian Americans.
Log Cabin Republicans is the only Republican organization dedicated to representing the interests of gay and lesbian Americans and their allies.
