Hi everyone,
I am so glad I found this forum. I really need your advice.
I have a prominent adams apple. It bothers me SO much and it makes me very depressed. It's all I think about. I really want to get surgery for it.
Can you guys please recommend the BEST doctor who would give me the best results. There are so many mixed reviews on the internet. I am so confused. But I really need to do this. It ruining my life and self esteem. So, please share your experiences, and let me know who would be the BEST of the best to do this. I want it completely gone!
Thank you so much!
Dr Spiegel from Boston has a developed a more advanced method to the common Wolford procedure. He also published a paper on this technique in 2008.
The technique appears to be safer than the Wolford method because he uses a flexible endoscope to locate the vocal cords. Through this the surgeon would know their exact position, making it easier to shave everything which can be removed safely.
If you're interested, I can share the two papers (Spiegel, 2008 and Wolford, 1992) with you. Just give me a shout.
Thank you for the reply. I thought about going with Dr. Spiegel, but then I read some bad reviews about him. I don't know if they are true or not. So it would be really helpful if you all would share your experiences. I am so desperate to do this.
I have a friend who had the most prominant adams apple I ever saw. She had the procedure done by Dr Nguyen in Lake Oswego Oregon. His work is very good. I can't even tell where the scar is any more. She looks great and doesn't have an adams apple any more.
Lana, it might help to know, generally, where you are located.
Europe?
Australia?
New England?
Pacific Northwest?
If you're in Europe, there would be another ENT surgeon in Germany.
I know two gals who had their Adam's Apple shaved by Dr Heino Davids, chief ENT surgeon in the Maerkische Kliniken, Luedenscheid (http://www.maerkische-kliniken.de/klinikum/Kliniken_und_Institute/Fachabteilungen/HNO-Klinik/AerzteTeam.htm).
Costs incl. anesthesia and some other things: ~1000 Euro.
That would not be very expensive, at least for European standards.
I live in USA.
Hmm sorry to derail this thread but question:
If my Adams apple can't be seen at all, but can be slightly felt, si it worth the money getting a trach shave? Should I just save the money and get a facial peel?

If you guys don't have any constructive advice. Please don't post here. This is not funny.

Adam1 asks a serious question that is on topic.
Lana, you state that you have "a prominent adams apple" and want surgery.
Adam1 does not have an obvious one and wonders if his money might be spent better elsewhere.

LOL. Jamie what universe do you live in? You are comparing a tracheal shave and facial peel? Do you know the big difference in terms of cost between the two?
Why don't you tell us, Lana? Hugs, Devlyn

The question asked by "Adam1" was,
If my Adams apple can't be seen at all, but can be slightly felt, [is] it worth the money getting a trach shave?I made no comparison. I pointed out that Adam1 was on topic, and that members here are not allowed to tell other members what they can post, or in which topics they can post.
Nor are they allowed to protest the site policies, or publicly dispute an action at moderation (Rule 2).
