Title: Mandyh92 and Susan's Community
Post by: Cindy on July 10, 2012, 04:54:26 AM
Many of us of read and helped with the horrific time that Mandy is going through in Thailand.

Hopefully she will be home soon and over the terrible treatment she has had.

I wanted to say a few things: This is a support site that was created by Susan to help gender dysmorphic people and their friends and family and to educate the general public. It is a monitored site. That means there are people who give up their time, their hobbies and their recreation to ensure the members do not get abused have a safe place to joke, talk, chat and have questions answered and asked.

We the staff and Sue, get hit by people who are malicious, do not wwant to be helpful and can be downright rude.

Sometimes it feels like a loosing battle.

This week or so has been the reverse for me.

I have seen the beauty of this community. The love, the care the heartbreak that has been sent to Mandy; people who have found phone numbers, people who have asked me to send flowers (sorry I'm not sure where she is) and people who have cried in frustration.
As have I.

Post-Op woman who have sent their advice and woman who know surgeons and Medics in the area.

You are truly special.

Susan's is a community that is worth being part of.

We greet new members by telling them they are now part of a family.

Thank you for showing that you mean it.

Thank You

Cindy James

And an even BIGGER thanks to the unsung hero's of this site.

The Moderators, staff and behind-the-scenes supporters, who spend countless hours/days keeping this family, the family it is.

It is no easy feat to keep a home this size with all the features and resources it constantly has available; going the way it does, 24/7/365. And that doesn't take into account all the 'out-of-hours' stuff, individuals take on such as spending hours looking for phone numbers etc.

We would all be shocked, if we knew the actual man(women)hours it took.

An enormous thanks to you all.

You are all giants.

Love
Catherine
