Hello everyone!
New here and thought I'd introduce myself. I just recently turned 25 and ever since I can remember I've had feeling I wanted to be a girl. It started as just dreams/fantasies and eventually when I was 12 I started cross dressing regularly. I always thought it was a phase or something I'd grow out of and I hid my feelings out of shame and fear.
It seems though the longer I hold my true feelings in, the more difficult it becomes. After a particularly bad emotional breakdown I decided enough was enough and scheduled an appointment with a local gender therapist who I will be seeing this Thursday for the first time. I came out completely to my psychiatrist yesterday and told her everything. She was the first person I had ever told everything to and while I was almost shaking in fear as it came out of my mouth, I felt much better afterwards. She was very supportive and wants to help me and work with the gender counselor as best she can.
It just feels good to take these first steps to accepting myself and I have my fingers crossed that everything works out!

If I recall my European history correctly, the "Maid of Orleans" was Joan of Arc.
Who may have been transgendered in real life.
Welcome MoO. Glad you are here.
Hi Maid of Orleans
Welcome from another Aussie. Congrats on taking the steps. it can be a roller coaster ride, but it does get easier. I'm proof of that.

Welcome MoO. Glad you are here.
You are correct. I have had an extreme passion for medieval/renaissance history for most of my life and she has always been a hero of mine since I was little.
A small update
I came out to my Mom last night and I made a post about what happened.

I, too, enjoy history.
