Title: Good news
Post by: kristin? on July 25, 2012, 03:46:51 PM
I went to my therapist today, the same guy I went to from age 12 to 17 (I'll be 20 soon). A lot of stuff is going on right now, and I really needed to see him again, mainly to talk about my ->-bleeped-<-(?), which I had never told even him. I thought I would need to switch to someone else, someone who specializes in gender issues, but it turns out he has plenty of experience with gender-confused patients, and he will be able to do all the things a gender therapist can do (such as determine when/if I can go on hormones, get SRS). It's going to be a lot less difficult with a terapist who know me (and my family situation), so we'll. As of today, I am officially on my way there :)

Congratulations! Sounds like you struck the metaphorical jackpot by having a therapist who knows you, has experience with transpeople and has the abilities of a gender therapist! Heres hoping all goes well for you  :)

A mighty big Congratulations Kristin,

Fabulous second step. You are doing soooo well at the moment, I really feel you are going a long way in a short time. I hope you are really proud of yourself. You need to be. It's these moments in your journey you need to celebrate, even if it's only a chocolate bar.

Keep on doing what you are doing, because you do it so well.

Be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
