So...I started therapy yesterday with my new therapist. I have a very nice, caring, compassionate, educated, understanding female therapist. Her first impression on me was top of the line, she couldn't have done better! We met and went over my history, family history, symptoms, etc.
She is aware of the TG issue and says she can deal with it. She was very supportive of me. Looks like transition time could be coming for me in the near future, yay!!! I feel so much better than I did before I met her!
Congratulations, sounds like you're a little happy...!

I had my first appointment this past Monday and I felt the same way. I was more than a bit anxious going into the appointment, but by the time I left I felt better than I have in a *long* time.

Congrats hun! May I ask how did you dress? I've always wondered if they judge on that?
Congrat! :)

Because of my living arrangement at current and the fact that I want to do this after I have a place of my own, I dressed male. I have not yet presented as female, but plan on it after I leave my current situation.
Dawn Heart:
Congratulations! That's awesome. ;D
Madison Leigh:
I'm so glad for you. :D

Jenna, I always came straight (bad choice of words?) from work to see my therapist, so I present to her as I present at work, so she knows what I am dealing with, and could see me become more androgynous and expressive in my presentation. The day I first came to session dressed as me, after going full time, we both celebrated.
I don't think a good therapist will judge you on your dress, unless you are full time and not dressing in your experienced gender - then you definitely have something to talk about! However, if they are good at such things they may be a safe person to show a new presentation style to, before you show it to the world. :)

I went back and forth the morning of, and finally settled on going dressed as a female. But I really think that as MadelineB says I wouldn't think it would be a huge deal either way depending upon circumstances. In my case since I work from home I don't get out as much as some would so to me it was a good opportunity to get some "practice" going out dressed.

I'm glad you have oth found supportive therapists. That must be a tremendous relief to you. Best of luck.
Thanks for the support, everyone! I am just waiting on her to get a schedule together for us to meet around. I am wondering now how she will proceed going forward and what she has in mind.
Congratulations!
I've met trans women who would bring photos to their therapy sessions, if they weren't able, comfortable, or ready to go dressed as they'd wish. Regardless, though, you start from where you are.
