THE Hollywood director responsible for the hit Matrix movies has 'outed' himself as a pink-haired transsexual called Lana.
Larry Wachowski, 47, one of the most influential directors in Hollywood after Steven Spielberg, has been undergoing hormone therapy as part of his sex-change treatment for nearly a decade. In a trailer for his latest film, the £80 million production Cloud Atlas, Wachowski says in a soft and breathy voice: 'Hi, I'm Lana.' It is the first time 'Larry' has appeared publicly as 'Lana'.

Wow. I love her work. Great female characters, fully formed, which is unusual for hard science fiction.
Welcome to the community, Miss Wachowski!
P.S. Too bad the Daily Mail completely misgendered her. I've yet to see them get it right in any article about transgender issues, but I trust the other papers will do a better job in writing about this amazing woman.
...and the Daily Mail plays the he/him/his game once again. So predictable.

Thanks for catching the errant "his"! There were so many, it was hard to keep track of them all :P

Well that was unexpected.
She's been taking hormones for a decade now? WHAT!?! You'd think someone would have noticed.
I read about this back in 2004 I think. We all thought she was transitioning, but then all was quiet, until now.

Was a bit of a surprise to me too, good for her. That hair aside, her face sort of reminds me of some pictures I've seen of Annette Benning.
