Tapatalk is enabled. Due to issues with the name, I have used the site domain. So search for susans.org in the app for forum name.
Tapatalk is a mobile app built specifically for forum access. From Padma....
QuoteTypically, on a smartphone there will be a web browser, like the one you're using to read this right now, so you can browse the internet on it - and on a smartphone, it's quite hard work reading the tiny screens, So the app for Tapatalk provides a dedicated screen format of the forum data that makes reading posts much easier. the example image on their website:
shows this on an iPhone.
For comparison, here's our favourite website on the iPhone browser:
So it's just a more manageable way of viewing your forum data than using the built-in web browser.
I noticed that there is also a Tapatalk Notifier for laptop/desktop if you are running the Chrome browser, but I didn't install the app until I saw your post!
I'll be playing around with it.
Thanks very much, this makes mobile Susan's a lot easier on the eye!
Using it right now, and it's actually even easier for me than using my desktop browser (apart from the fiasco that is me typing on my phone dkgvjsnsk).
I can even mod from my phone now (to some extent), it's flexible enough for that.
Thanks for looking out for us mobile users! I will have to play around with the app.
You kids today. Why, when I was a kid tap-a-talk was drumming your fingers on the desk during an awkward telephone conversation.
Uh, I mean, I probably need to learn a little bit more about how smartphones interact with teh interwebs.
I just had tapatalk already for easy access to a bigender forum, and it really does make forums accessible on a phone. Dammit, just one more reason to spend too much time staring at the tiny screen ::).
Got the app on both my iPhone and my Kindle Fire. I like the Kindle Fire version better. The Kindle Fire is the poor girls iPad :)
I can well imagine it'd be easier to use on a bigger screen - I'm envious.

Susan, what do you get for poor girl's iPone? ;) I'm sure I could get one if I set my mind to it... but we don't get service in the boonies. This looks like a great app for those who have the 'right equipment.' Okay, smack me with a ruler.
I got my iphone free after renewing my contract with AT&T for 2years...

Just adding onto this point, most major carriers also provide free or nearly free phones that have android, a few offer windows and blackberry based phones for free now too, mobile technologies have never been so easily accessible by so many income levels..... Of course they all won't let you without a monthly data plan, on a smartphone so it is easy to see that it does indeed cost more even on a free phone.
I have an HTC EVO 3D myself, and i cant complain, though I do miss my much cuter non smartphone LG d-lite.
Does this "tapatalk" allow for use of the chat room?
No, just forums.
I'm just going to pretend that I know what's going on. I'm hip and with it. I belong to the youth generation, hepcats and all that. Lol. /soconfused
Felix, it's an eye strain-relief thing :).
Susan's on an iPhone browser:

I bought the tapatalk app about a month ago by accident and have never used it until now. I like it very much. Thanks for making this possible!
I've been using tapatalk for quite a while on other forums and i'm glad to see it supported here now :)
I have the 'tapatalk' (free) version for the xda forums for android... but honestly, I can't see spending money on tapatalk when Opera Mobile (not mini, the full deal) works just fine on (most) every forum on the webz. I've been osing Opera since back when WinMo 6.x made it's way to the "smart phone" industry.
But, I'm gald you guys are on board along with the facebook deal. I don't use facebook either... but it's nice to see new features online.
Keep up the good work. Just waiting for that paypal button :p
Very cool. I remember making a post about this not that long ago. Thank you so much for adding it. Definitely easier to surf the forum without having to pinch and zoom all the time. I too eagerly await the donation button.

I forgot to report back what it does. The Tapatalk Notifier gives you a little popup with a link in your Chrome browser, whenever you get a personal message on Susan's, even if you don't have Susan's up. Not as nifty as the full app on a smart phone or e-reader, but still useful.
Can whoever set up tapatalk for this forum tell me what category they chose to register the site under with tapatalk? I've just set up a local forum, and I can't see any relevant categories to use for gender stuff.
"Due to issues with the name, I have used the site domain. So search for susans.org in the app for forum name."
Yeah, I remember that, it was just that their site was demanding that I pick a category before being able to register a site, and none of them fit gender issues. I settled on Holistic Healing in the end :).
Hi, is there any plan to update the tapatalk API on this forum? It shows that my notification is disabled when using tapatalk 4 due to the outdated API.
Thank you..
Tapatalk is disabled for the foreseeable future. Their coding sucks.
:( - ah well, it's back to squinting.
Tapatalk still works, it's just that it won't push any notifications to you, which is fine, because I set it up so I get emailed notifications anyway. :D
Ooooor not. Stopped working on me today. I'm going to cry, now. :icon_cry2:
Me too. No longer working at all. I use it at work pretty much daily because the internet there sucks and i'm on my phone usually.
yeah, it's a little bit hard to see the forum using tiny little screen since mobile version is not available either.. :(
Is there a status on Tapatalk functionality? I use it on my iPad to access nearly all of the forums I frequent (except one, which recently dropped support for Tapatalk as they have now forced users to access via a custom build of an OLD version of Tapatalk). Hoping that Tapatalk functionality returns soon.
I thought I was the only one using Tapatalk that much. I got sad when it stopped working on my phone. I definitely think this board needs a mobile platform. Or it's own app (which would be cool too!)
So with Tapatalk disabled for the foreseeable future, are there any alternatives planned?

Susan posted that it has been disabled. I changed the title of the topic to reflect that.
well, pooh
I use tapatallk almost exclusively. :(
I used it too. Now it's disabled, sucks. Much easier to use on-the-go in app form than mobile browser.
Yeah trying to proof a post on iOS makes all sorts of weird things happen. Like, if you try to set the cursor somewhere the page flys up to the smiley faces and you lose your place. Sometimes it wigs out and you lose your post in the process
I miss tapatalk too.
Yes, iOS (even though I love my iPhone) can be a pain in the arse. I would really love to see Susan's supporting TapaTalk again, I miss this place so much. It's just more simple and easy to pop into the app and see what's going on and put my 2 cents in than it is to use the website with mobile Safari.
I've not been very active lately anyway, lots going on but I do hope that sometime soon we get TT enabled again!!
I'm looking forward to getting a Note 3 when it comes out... Then likely tapatalk will not even be necessary. I've been an iPhone/iOS user since the day it was released, but ever since I went to Korea I've been craving having one of those super huge phones or "phablets" as they are calling them.
The way the posting mechanisms work through the iOS web browser and this forum engine has to be in the barely usable category. It's the most frustrating thing I've ever done on an iPhone due to the way that the screen flips up when you try to place the cursor somewhere.
Also iOS... over it!
I just got myself a note 2 and browsing the forum with it is still not as good as tapatalk. For just reading the replies it's ok. I don't think it will be any different with note 3. But coming from iphones, I can seee a huge jump.
Yeah. I agree. I have a Note 2, and while reading the forum is okay, there's no way I'm going to even try to post on them. I can't even imagine what it would be like on a phone with a smaller screen.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it is very annoying to navigate this forum on the browser. I doubt the Note series will be a great improvement. It's not that much bigger. Still if you hold out for the Note 3, I am sure that will be your best bet.
Yeah the Galaxy series doesn't have a wide display; websites often are a pain to browse with it. But on the other hand it's a mobile phone and no tablet, so it shouldn't be bigger... as it wouldn't fit into a jacket anymore.
Will tapatalk return at a future time?
They sounded pretty final in their decision to kill it. Which makes me sad. :'(
I do most of my moderating and posting from a Galaxy S III, I don't have trouble with the site. There was one update they sent that made text editing squirrely, but it was soon updated and fixed.
I usually access the forum during the daytime via my Droid Razr Maxx. It's pretty easy to see and navigate on the phone.

It is my understanding the site will soon undergo some upgrades. Hang tight folks.
I will be working on it again in the next week.
It's back they fixed the problem that made me remove it!
Yay! Thanks Susan.. :) :)
That's great! Thanks!
woop woop woop!!!
Thank you Susan!!!
Yay!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Thank you Susan :-*
Omg the best news of my week!!
The problem that made me take it out was once installed the automatic removal process would fail. That is no longer the case.
Omg this is amazing.
YES!!! OMG Thank you Susan!!!

Thanks for givind them a second chance. Makes it much easier for me to participate. :D
Thank you!
Thanks very much, Susan - I know I'm mostly lurking for the moment, but it's much easier to use Tapatalk on a small screen.
