Thinking about the many artists that embrace some form of androyny, why do you think it is somewhat common?
What forces or acceptance does the arts enjoy that other places are more restricted?
What cultures smash, ignore, or support androgyny and why the difference?
Their love of life? And I notice that some tend to be more 'intelligent' in their word choice in lyrics. Like Ann Lennox, she's such a treat to listen to, only because she's always been a great singer, and the lyrics to her songs weren't just some boring smash of words versus melody. :3

Often artists tend to live outside societal norms. I find that as a musician, a certain amount of my androgynous expression is just considered by people as being "artistic".

I think that androgyny is more commonly accepted in the arts because most people expect artistic people to be weird, or at least outside some social norms. Just a thought.
