Hey, so I have an appointment to get a tattoo today, and I keep flip flopping from wanting it on my chest, kinda high up tucked under my clavicle, or on my lower pelvis.
My questions are
1) what should I say to the artist? "um, yeah so I was born female, im gonna need to keep a towel over the lower part of my chest" has anyone else here gotten a pre op tattoo on their chest? was it awkward?
2) I think with my tattoo so high up, I dont need to worry about it being distorted when I have surgery, right?
Need answers fast, my appointment is at 1:30!
this is the tattoo if you are curious

Now that I think about it more, I would rather have it on my chest, that location will save me money, and its just a cooler spot I think, its just the awkwardness of the moobs
too late, already got it done. I got it on my chest, and it wasnt too awkward. I went into the room and he said "ok you can just whip off your shirt and toss it somewhere" and I said "um, well actually I was uhh born female, so could I have a towel or something to cover up?" and he reacted fine, just said he didnt have any towels but he could use some paper towels on me, luckily I had brought my binder and had put it on backwards like a strapless shirt

You should've just said you had gynecomastia and it makes you uncomfortable being shirtless around other guys, Elijah.
Congrats on your tattoo! ;D I'm glad to hear that the tattoo artist was cool about your trans stuff, too. I imagine that must have been a big relief after you informed him of your history.

Nice! Be sure to take good care of it while it heals up. Hugs, Devlyn
I really like your tattoo! And I'm sure that's high up enough to not be affected by surgery.
