For no other reason than to share something beautiful. This is narrated by Tim Minchin, my fave singer-comedian. Shaun Tan is a brilliant illustrator and storyteller.
Somehow I felt this film belonged in the androgyne section - it's about finding your place amongst beings who are all different, stepping out into the forest...
Enjoy.

Oh! One of my son's favourite books is by Shaun Tan. I thought the same thing when I read "The Lost Thing." Also, in a way, "The Red Tree."
Oh wow, thank you so much for that. I am totally in love with Shaun Tan. The Arrival is basically my favourite thing ever.
I really want to get a tattoo of his work, but I can't decide what because I love too many of the things.
Yes, The Arrival is extraordinary. Eric is my (more affordable) present of choice for loads of people - it always melts me.
I love this image too...

One time when I was at the library I picked up a book at random and took it home (I do this sometimes just to surprise myself, see if I get interested in a genre I've never tried before). It was The Arrival. This writer makes some good stuff.
I like this movie. It's got a bitter sweetness to it. I'll have to share it with some of my friends, I know they'd like it.
It would indeed be a lost thing that didn't like it...
or not.
