Title: Hello Everyone
Post by: DebbyTG on August 29, 2012, 03:55:38 PM
I wanted to briefly introduce myself.  My first thought of being transgender was when I was 6 years of age.  I was at a female's friend home playing.  We were in the bathroom together and she was naked, changing into other clothes as I remember.  The only thought I remember having was this:  That is what I should look like.  I also remember being fascinated by my mother's clothes.  I never acted on this until I was 30.  That is the first time I ever dressed as a woman, but I purged after 6 months.  When I was in my 40's, I thought I had the approval of my then wife.  For a month I was able to wear a few women's clothing around the house.  Then to save the marriage, I had to purge again.  Now I am 55.  I live in a small town about 40 miles from a big city, Indianapolis.  I arrived here when I became homeless after being divorced by my ex.  I now live by myself and am quite poor.  I live on disability.  I recently came back to the transgender issue by finding a pair of panties left by another woman in my housing apartments.  They were just my size.  This brought back all my old feelings.  I just bought my first 2 pairs of panties today.  I feel so right.  I don't know if I'll ever be able to transition, given my poorness and given the fact that I do not have a car.  I do not know how I can get to a Gender Facility, given that I used to know that there was one in Indianapolis.  I am currently getting up the nerve to bring up this issue the next time I have a doctor's appointment in November.  I do look forward to getting some more clothing when my disability check comes in.

Welcome to Susan's.

I would have so many more things if I had never "purged", but that is a normal trend.

Hi Debbie ,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking.

Good to hear you are at least still moving forward, even though they may be baby steps, you are still moving forward. And that has to be good. Keep your spirits up and you may be surprised at what turns out for you.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
