Title: Newbie.. a few questions
Post by: desperatelyseeking-grace on August 30, 2012, 10:53:17 PM
So I'm completely new to this. I haven't cross dressed but I have tried on women's clothes with my girlfriends. Anyway I'm ready to take the leap and go all out. I live with my parent's right now and I'm not sure how I could dress up without them seeing me. So I figured since Halloween is coming up I could just use that as an excuse. My questions are.. Are there any cheap wig places online? And what king of make up did you start with? How do you find shoes that are cute and fit? My shoe size is a men's 12 sometimes 11 depending on the shoe I guess. Sorry if these have been addressed before. I'm just so confused I don't know where to start..

Hi there. There are plenty of places nline where you can find wigs. Some beauty supply stores carry them. You can find make up there also. Department and drug stores carry them. I wear a 12 in a man's shoes. Go a size larger in women's shoes. Hope this helps.

Well the good news is that pretty much any big box store has wigs during Halloween season (Target, wal mart, walgreens, etc.). With makeup, try to find a cheap foundation that matches your skin tone and get some eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lipstick. Payless shoes carries 12 and 13 :)

Yeah. Foundation seems to be the most confusing. theres lots of them that match but some have a lighter tone or so then others.

Second hand stores is where it's best to get your clothes until you know you want something for sure. First i took a liking to womens boots, i bought them second hand and luckily they fit, now i know it's safe to buy it new. I guess i also know the sizes now so i think that's the best way to know your size and preferences about clothing. Make up is pretty easy, just start practicing and i'm sure you'll get the hang of it. It takes me personally a maximum of 3 tries before i understand the basics. As for your wig question, search in google for wig stores in your town. That's what i did and how i got my wig. Good luck.
