For over a year I was doing shots and just recently switched to the andro gel. Since I've switched to the andro gel the acne is coming back. I was so happy my acne was finally clearing up, now it's coming back. Anyone else have this problem when switching the type or form of T?
I can't go through another year of acne. It was just starting to clear up.
It might just be the adjustment to the new regime? Since you went from having T levels that sort of went up and down with shots, to the constant T.
I guess it could also be that some guys just get acne. It comes with the territory of T. It sucks, I have a bad breakout atm, but it's not the end of the world. :)
Where is the acne and what are you doing to try to get rid of it? I have combination skin so what works for me might not work for you.
I exfoliate in places where there's acne to the best of my ability (my back/shoulders are hard to reach so I don't do a great job there). I use a salicic acid (clueless on the spelling) face wash/scrub in the places that are really oily. Tea tree oil washes or cleansing pads work great, too. However, if you have some patches of skin on your face that are dry and some that are really oily then you want to use an oil free acne fighting moisturizer. This will help stop the acne while also providing moisture to parts of the face that are dry. I do a routine in the shower, I'll do a face scrub with salicic acid wash on the really pimpley parts (mostly my chin and nose) then wash it off...later in the day I'll use the acid wash stuff thing again...twice a day.

Has saved me from many a bad breakouts. They heal within several days and then I stay clear for a bit.
changes in hormone levels cause acne like when i got on and off T i got bad acne. so its a change in levels that is causing acne it should level out and your acne shouldnt be as bad as it was on shots as levels are more consistant on androgel.
I think what others have said so far, sound about right and pretty helpful, so I dont have more to add onto that. I was just letting you know, I experienced the return of the acne when I switched forms of T. I never experienced acne pre T, then I got abit on my face when I started sustanon shots. After 8 months, I switched to Nebido injections every 12 weeks (I do sometimes get it a week or so early if I feel that my levels feel low...I know I shouldnt! :p). Ive been on Nebido for over 2 years now and Id say that most of that time I experienced facial acne. But it wasnt constant, it seemed about around the middle - the end of my T cycle that itd flare up. Then go, then flare up. It was annoying.
Ive had my trough T levels checked, and it always comes out on the lower end of the bar.
My acne has been gone for about 2 months now, Im hoping thats it gone.
I had a hysto as part of lower surgery last month, and Im due my next shot next month, so Im hoping the fact that part is gone, thatll somehow help. (It could bring the acne back with a vengence, but Im hoping not!)
Thanks guys.
@Nygeel: Acne is on my face and I've been using the stuff I used before when I had the acne, the alcohol oxy pads and this topical gel.
I heard that andro gel gives a lot of achne... At least from what I've seen on YouTube. Not only face but the places they have put the gel. Just from what I saw from a ftm youtuber
Interesting, cause my acne improved drastically on Androgel as compared to pre-T.

Really? How long does it take for the acne to get bad on it? I would think my body would be used to the testosterone by now so it wouldn't matter if I switched the type of T I'm taking b/c it's been in my system for over a year now. I haven't noticed any acne on my shoulders which is where I apply it. Mostly my chin is where I get the acne and a little bit on my face.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I can't afford it right now.
I stopped getting pimples and facial marks between the period of 16-18.
I think many of you will have to suffer a little while but it gets better. Otherwise see a dermatologist O-o
What kept me through my highschool years was skin colored clearisel, I find it works really well and hides them.
