A public university plans to host an event in which a self-described man displays sexually explicit images of his transition from a female to male physique.
The University of Minnesota – Duluth (UMD), now infamous for funding controversial programs, plans to pay transsexual activist Loren Cameron an honorarium of $4,000 for his presentation "Transgender Images," emails from the school's administration sent exclusively to Campus Reform reveal.
Cameron's website, which also displays explicit images, says the purpose of his photography is to "provide an affirming visual resource for transgendered people and to demystify the transsexual body for the non-transgendered viewer.

Some question whether a public university should be spending $4,000 to display Cameron's work.
In a move that is "causing shock waves," the University of Minnesota-Duluth is paying $4,000 to host a display of transgender activist Loren Cameron's sexually explicit photos.
Its unclear exactly when Cameron's exhibition will be displayed -- UMD officials say the specifics haven't been determined yet -- but October is "Queer History Month" at the school, which suggests Cameron's Duluth show will happen sometime then.
Cameron, 53, was born female and identified as a lesbian until his late 20s, when he began developing a more masculine look through bodybuilding, hormones, and surgery. Though he still has female genitalia (see the NSFW photo on page two of this post), Cameron now has a remarkably masculine physique and sports a beard.

DULUTH, Minn. — A lecture and photography exhibit by a noted California-based photographer has drawn criticism from a conservative student group affiliated with the Arlington, Va.-based Leadership Institute due to its explicit content documenting his gender reassignment surgery.
The exhibit by Loren Rex Cameron, a Lambda Literary Award winning author and photographer who is also a noted transsexual activist, includes portraiture and self-portraiture which consist of lesbian and transsexual bodies in both clothed and nude form.
