Title: Paying Chettawut
Post by: rachl on September 15, 2012, 09:27:07 AM
Hopefully someone else who's booked with Chettawut can explain the ambiguous instructions on paying the deposit.

They want 20% + 500THB, but not sent in THB. It sounds like they want the WHOLE deposit sent in my own currency (Canadian dollars). Is that right?

I suggest what I did for PIH...

Give orders to your Canadian bank to transfer ROI CA$ amount of Thai Baht requested to his Bangkok account, and do it cost shared... :)

Axélle
PS: The reason is, they want to see FOREX come into the country - might even be a government thing to boost the local currency...

We're probably staying at the Rama. We're trying to arrange for internet by paying a local company for mobile internet for the month. I sent the deposit yesterday, so we're at the point of picking/booking the hotel and finalizing flights. We had everything worked out until a last-minute conference caused us to completely change things...and plans are far more complicated now :(

But...getting excited :D

My friend was to pay 1000 euros as deposit but that was back then in 2007. Hey may I know how much is the total cost of the hotel stay that you are required to remain there?

We're still working it out, but my estimate puts it around $1300 CDN for the Rama villages.

CDN = Canadian dollar. I think your estimate might be on the low side, but maybe you're going alone.
