Title: HRT, effective but no change in a high sex drive
Post by: Jennifer.L on September 23, 2012, 01:08:11 PM

So I've been on a basic does of HRT for several month. I've got the standerd results for the most part, but well  There's no real change in sex drive.  You know?  I never really cared if I was with a girl, but I get turned on plenty.  I wounder if I'm androgen insensitive?  How would you find out?  would it even matter?  I jsut wounder some times.  Oh don't misunderstand I love being feminine.  I would never want to change it.  I'm jsut interested in understanding why so I can help others.  Wouldn't you feel better knowing that your not a freak, you, where just never a guy to begin with.  and all the pain that trying to be a guy cause was because you where never really a guy?  you know?   Hmmmm maybe I'm nuts.  IDK  but I can't help thinking some times :)

lol, you're most likely not androgen insensitive. That means your body can either not handle Testerone at all, and it aromatises it E and you wouldn't have external male appearing genitalia in the case of Complete AIS.

Maybe partial AIS, but then that why would you have a high sex drive? I think AIS in males is mild and they end up with T affecting them less.

If you were even partial AIS, your T levels would be VERY high as they would not be binding to receptors.

My sex drive is a roller coaster sometimes, but my libildo generally can only be controlled by me.

Hormones made randomness go away, doubling my E dose seemed to increase my drive which was awkward and unexpected.  I guess best way to sum it up is YMMV to the greatest extent~  Definitely not the only one!

After 16 or so months on hormones, I've realised that I still have much the same sex drive as I had before - but what I'm looking for has changed..

Which is even funnier considering I am on.... ze pill.

HRT is the most inexact science in the whole wide world.  Quantum Physics be damned...
(On a side note, it drives my OCD a bit over the top because of it xD)

My T levels are not as low as other ladies, but its under the male danger zone to a point where dysfunction/loss of libido is guaranteed.

My T levels are flat now, but my libido/horniness is still up and down like a yoyo (especially up before the full moon). It can take at least a couple of months, anyway, for HRT to begin affecting your libido noticeably, and many people seem to have a libido that fluctuates - whether they're trans or not. Like Kelly, my libido has changed "texture" but when it's high, it's high. Since there are plenty of horny women around, I've decided not to consider it an indicator of anything (except possibly mood). The only time I was relentlessly really horny a few months ago was when my T spiked, but the difference then was really, really obvious ::).
