I want to buy some women's shoes but every store I've gone to has no sizes bigger than 11. I take a 10 1/2 men's so a women's 11 is too small for me.
I'd like to order online, but I don't know what size I am (absent a store to try larger sizes on).
How do women with larger feet figure out what size they are?
While standing, have someone trace an outline of your feet (both of them, as one may be larger than the other). I've heard some onlines will use this to size your feet.
Or, find a place allows easy returns (ie, prepaid return labels) and order your (man) size + 1 (for American sizes) (or round up to the next whole number).
But shoes are like other clothing items...just because a size 11 fits in one shoe style, doesn't mean another style will also need to be size 11...
I've ordered mine online before from a favorite large retailer that has a lots of sales, a generous return policy and local storefronts. They often have free shipping too which helps, or sometimes i can search online and find coupons to get the free shipping. I simply take back anything that doesn't fit to the local store and I don't have to pay the shipping cost to return it.
Shoes come and go in online stores. If you find a shoe that you absolutely love order two of them in different sizes (say, a 10 and an 11) to maximize the chances of getting a pair that fits and return the other pair.
In most women's shoes, you'll need 1 to 1.5 sizes larger. I'd recommend a women's size 11.5 or 12. If you haven't found it yet... www.zapos.com (http://www.zapos.com) huge selection, fast shipping, and liberal return policy. One of my fav places for shoes.
