So I recently started Progesterone for less than a week and I thought I would help girls out on here that were debating it. I want to first say this it is an individual experience and mine WILL NOT be yours because everyone will be different in terms of the correct hormones. But I couldn't find any concrete evidence from transwomen weather it was beneficial or not. I decided to just try it and my doctor agreed. She does not usually recommend it but felt I deserved to try it.
I will give further updates once I've been on it for a while. So here is what I notice: I am a lot hungrier than usual, I'm not eating differently or out of control but I do have increased appetite. A lot of breast tenderness. This could be contributed to the estrogen I take but I guess we'll never know. When I woke up my boobs seemed noticeably different in size. They seemed a lot bigger and rounder. I was happy! I am not that angry so far, when I was on birth control I was a bitc* or so I"ve been told haha.
I will give a further update when I have been on it longer. But I intended to write this to help other girls that are confused by it and need a little help. So in short it can have an affect on your boobs, stomache, and anger. Its just a personal preference. I will add that progesterone does cause breast growth (while not as significant as estrogen) it can make enough of a difference to us =)
Bye and hope this helps =)
I have been on progesterone since I started hrt. I am quite a bit hungrier, but still losing weight. I am still on the starter dose and have B cups, so I think it is helping there. But, I am not any more moody than before.

It's great that you seem to be having additional breast development from progesterone, however, there is essentially no scientific evidence to support your claim.

There is no evidence to the contrary either which is why some doctors will prescribe it and others won't. My doctor did, my friends doctor didn't.
My endo said to me "I can put you on it if you want it, but there's controversy for and against".
2 medications in one day is enough for me so I said no thanks. =)

I was taking progesterone for 5 month when I was self medicating. It made me hungry, yes. It also made me moody. The endo I go to now says its unnecessary. Apperantly my AA, Androcur, also has progesterone in it?
Im less hungry now, but ive somehow gained weight? Less moody too. Let us know whats up
Androcur is Cyproterone Acetate, which itself has weak progesterone biological affinity. It doesn't have progesterone in it but it does have some similar effects, to a small degree.

I had heard that too, however I have a girlfriend who added it into her hormone regimen and claims to have much fuller boobs than before. I used it and got dark circles under my eyes and felt like sh*t. Whatever blows your hair back I guess!
Hey it's me checking in again. I definitely have had major differences so far. My boobs were in a lot of pain. They are NOT miraculously a full cup size bigger but they are noticeably fuller and rounder. For example the sides and top of my boobs have more of an increase so that it is more of a fuller rounder effect.
My hunger increase hasn't been insanely noticeable or changing how I eat really. I just eat a little extra if I feel REALLY hungry. Most of the time it's not enough to make me gain 20 lbs.
My anger isn't noticeable so far. My emotions have been similar as always and I feel more clear headed and emotionally balanced (which is the usual opposite association with progesterone haha)
I haven't had any major side effects so far but will definitely report them to stay fair to both sides. But overall I feel more "normal" But I want to end this update by reiterating that hormones are individual and my experience and yours WILL NEVER be the same. You may or may not like progesterone and it is important to make informed decisions on your own because all medications carry risks. Hope I helped some =)
Youve been on it for a week.. something like this wont be noticeable for months or years...
My endo upped my progesterone level because he said it will help lower my T levels. I hope he is right.
