Title: Dancing
Post by: Cindy on October 07, 2012, 03:51:05 AM
I'm dancing a lot more. I even have a dance to video clips, I never used to.

I went out at last night and joined in a group of other woman dancing to the band. I'd never met them but they didn't seem to mind, in fact we ended up at the same table at their invite and got up and danced most of the night. There was nothing 'pick up' in it. I prefer guys and it was obvious they did as well.

But it was heaps fun, running to the loo between sets and chatting up the band members, who they knew. It was great.

Could get used to having a good time.

Any one else noticed this?

It seems to be what girls do. I was at a student union function a few weeks ago and just danced with a lot of younger women, some of whom are in my classes at Uni. Great fun.

I miss dancing  :'( and do my best to enjoy it whenever I can and withover I can.

But its most fun when its with people I know and trust.

It's strange I've always loved dancing since I was a kid. Although going dancing while presenting as a guy has always been a nightmare for me.
Except when I was too young to care when I was a kid, and had my first round of wine when no one was around to ease things  ::).

I can't dance. When I hear music my body goes into a fit resembling a seizure. It's called C.L.R. (Convulsus Lackus Rythmus)  >:-)

I used to go dancing after gender group in Seattle at a GLBTI friendly club called "Neighbors." They had a great dance floor but did mostly techno music. The sound system was great although a bit too loud for comfort at times. There was always quite a colorful crowd of different types and gender expressions. I have danced the night away with them all. I popped into a lez bar up the street "The Wild Rose" and had a casual conversation with a few women and mentioned that I was headed to Neighbors. One of the gals showed up later and we danced several numbers. The bar was well stocked with several bartenders, it is a very cool place on Capitol Hill in Seattle. I took my spouse there dancing several times and she enjoyed it, but the neighborhood has become kind of scary at night and we quit going at her request.

dancing with women is fun
dancing with men is fun too, especially if they aren't great at it, cause i'll confuse them by taking the lead. had obligatory dance classes in my first year in high school, and since the music course has more girls than boys, the girls had to learn the man's part too and switch roles pretty often

A very difficult topic for me because of all the memories and behaviours tied to my past dancing experiences. Back in my much younger and male mode days, my female aquantices and I would go out dancing. Adult beverages in massive quantities were certainly a factor. Never the less I really started to enjoy dancing with my friends.

These days I basically get the heebie-jeebies when I am in a place serving alcohol. I totally lock up and cannot relax much. ( The answer is yes, I do have a bit of a problem ) That used to be followed by a waterfall of other good reasons to beat up on myself. Perhaps someday as a lot of guilt over many things slowy gets exorcised I can again enjoy dancing  :'(

I "dance" more now. If uncoordinated flailing can be called dancing. But, I feel better about myself so I actually don't mind looking a little goofy if I'm having fun.

OTOH, when I was still presenting female, the husband and I went to a luau in Hawaii on vacation and I was pulled up to dance by a group of women I had never met before. It was fun, but I doubt it would happen anymore.

I say this with respect to you Cindy. Dancing for you is an ideal displacement and is providing you with the relief that anyone needs. It is healthy and positive.

I sincerely hope you can build upon what you have found. You're certainly intelligent enough to think and I assume, sufficiently experienced and trained to understand.

You have a lot to contribute. Much more than you yet realise.

And I would like the next dance with Jill. Hugs, Devlyn

Thanks Sis, and I'll always save a dance to have one with you, as long as Devlynn stops cutting in.

When you dance,
Do your senses tingle?
Then take a chance?
In a trance,
While the lonely mingle
With circumstance?

...

Like a
Mountain that's growing
A river that rolls
Let me come over,
I know you know
When you dance
I can really love.
