Title: question about where to apply gel
Post by: billy99 on October 08, 2012, 06:02:14 PM
Hi,

I'd like to ask your opinion about if it could be a problem if I apply androgel on genitals.

I've read the instructions and it says do not apply in this area and I'm not sure why not. I know it has alcohol so itches a bit, but apart from this, I've read on some guides that genital should be avoided because a greater proportion of testosterone applied on genital skin is converted to DHT, but I wonder if this refers only to cismale men or it's also for transmen. I would like to do to improve the growth of micro penis, and beside this, I think it can be good if more gel is absorbed so it may serve less amount of gel.

What do you think?

I am on gel and wouldn't go for it. I do believe I have read about the DHT thing, but besides this, I have also read that Androgel doesn't work locally. In other words, it wouldn't have an effect on growth downstairs. More than likely, the alcohol in the product would irritate and possibly disrupt the health of your genital area, particularly since those parts have much more sensitive tissue than a cismale's genitals would.

It doesn't itch, it BURNS. Try it if you want, but it will be painful.  I know, first hand.  Even the cream prescribed by Dr. Miro for use prior to surgery burns.  I"m not sure it did a whole heck of a lot, but I did use it religiously as well as pump.

yes, it's true... it burns, I've done it a couple of times, but the pain only last a few seconds, so if it were useful I wouln't mind. Anyways, you're right and it doesn't seem appropriate, maybe I can cause damage to genital area.
I asked here because most of the info that I've read is intended for people with male genitalia and I'm not sure if the effects or problems that can cause apply gel in that area would be the same for transmen.
thanks for your answers
