So I was approved for surgery back before the summer mailed off the package I was sent from Dr Brassards office then a little while back was told I could have Feb 4 for my surgery date, I replied to them saying that would be fine. Just wondering for those of you who have gone through the process of registering for surgery in Montreal, how long after you confirmed the date was it before you were mailed the confirmation letter? I know I may sound impatient, which i am partially xD, but I'm also just excited and eager. :)
I actually wrote back to them to ask about the confirmation letter, because we were both confused by the instructions.
Date selected/confirmed in November, they said the confirmation letter would be "January or February," letter arrived in mid-February. :) Sorry! But it was a date that was quite a long ways off, so maybe they prioritize those which are coming up soonest? They definitely *did* reserve the date, although they say it's not "official" until the first deposit is sent in (after that letter arrives).
I just assumed it'd be here by now because they said they'd send it shortly and it's been two weeks ans I'll have to schedule appointments for preoperative tests for the beginning of dec and an appointment with my endocrinologist, who is usually booked solid months in advance. I guess I should expect it before November from what they told me on the phone.
You may want to double-check with them soon. Occasionally the office can be a little flaky. (Plus the Canada-to-US postal route apparently hits a snag now and again! If you're in the US, that is.)
I'm in Ontario :) I called them yesterday. :)
I hope you hear back promptly! (And I'm glad I didn't assume. Heh.) They should at least be able to tell you when to expect the letter; they did for us.
I called them up today. They said they'd send a confirmation email and then the rest of the papers in the mail tomorrow. I'm pretty sure they forgot since she apologized a few times.
I got the email today.
