I don't eat them all the time, but ohhhhh are they tasty :) I usually only eat them in a salad or when I make a Calif. burrito
Do you like avocados? What do you do with them? :)
Avo's are good in salads, on their own with a little mayo.. In all sorts of things really..
Really good with strawberries and ground black pepper. You'll be amazed.

That's a new one, haven't tried them that way :) Maybe have to give it a whirl
I love avocados - especially as guacamole with shedloads of garlic in.
They're ok in a hair conditioner, but eating them? no thanks.
Love them! Avogadro's number of avocados! Well, not that much. I like them in sandwiches, salads, guacamole, and Mexican dishes.

Salads and in soft shell tacos!
Guacamole is heaven. Especially on my breakfast burritos.
I wouldn't call this love:
1) I go out and buy them when I want to taste their insides
2) I leave them lying prone and helpless until they soften up and their skin changes color
3) I take a dull knife and rip their skins from their flesh
4) I split them in half and discard their hard wood-like hearts
5) I smash them into green paste with a tined instrument
6) I douse them with lime juice (or lemon) to keep their pasty flesh from turning brown
7) I blend salt, spices, and diced vegetables into their remains
8) I spread their prepared flesh on baked or fried crunchy things and stick them in my mouth.
9) While I devour them, I am known to make them watch television sports - including figure skating and luge.
At least, I wouldn't call this love if it wasn't avocado.
Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind...
I have an avocado tree in my yard. I love them.
Guacamole
2 ripe avocados
1/2 medium onion, minced
2 serrano chiles, minced with stems and seeds removed
2 tablespoons cilantro leaves, chopped

Swell recipe, it's going in my book...Thanks!
You are most welcome, Shan. About 80% of the avocados you'll find in the stores these days are the Hass variety. But if you run into the less common varieties, pick a couple up. They can make big changes in the taste and texture of your dip.
Fun factoid:
In Central America and present-day Mexico, where the avocado is indigenous, they were considered an aphrodisiac. Indeed, the word "avocado" derive from the Nahuatl (Aztec) word, ahuakatl, which meant "tree testicle."

No, just the folks that eat them are :icon_evil_laugh: Whoops, that includes me

I understand Madeline beats her avocados to a pulp.

Must be some lingering resentment from an earlier time?
One of my favorite breakfast post workout foods is avocados and tomatoes with a pinch of kosher salt :-)
It amuses me (though it took me a while to figure this out) that the so-called 'ripe & ready to eat' avocados you get in supermarkets in the UK are good for eating within around a 90-minute window of ripeness, before they turn to the dark side (goodness only knows what they're doing to them to make then ripen to order).
Whereas a non-ripened avocado grows old gracefully :).
I ran across this on Yahoo, but have not yet tried it:

"Award winning guacamole"
Note to Padma: A little lemon or lime juice keeps the avocado pulp from turning colors. Test the avocado for ripeness with a little squeeze. If it is too squishy, it is likely over-ripe.
Here is a recipe I like in the late spring, or early summer, when the strawberries are fresh from the local fields.
Strawberry and avocado salad
In each salad bowl:
1. Place about 1 cup of Spring Mix salad greens (these are usually baby lettuces of several varieties and baby spinach).
2. Top with 1/2 ripe avocado, peeled and quartered, and
3. About 4-6 fresh strawberries, quartered lengthwise.
4. Garnish with toasted candied pecans.
5. Serve with Poppy Seed dressing or a citrus-based vinaigrette.
Super easy. Prep time: under ten minutes.
Definitely someone who loves avocados... be it as guacamole, as filling for makizushi, eaten right out of the shell with either soy sauce or balsamic dressing, as part of a salad or... well, you know, the uses are endless.
