Post by: SoShy on October 23, 2012, 03:44:44 PM
I've been looking at doctors.. and Brassard looks like the one.. but I haven't been able to find more recent information about how his work is, aesthetically and functionally.. anyone that knows more I would love to have some input ( and no.. changing to another surgeon isn't an option for me )..

so any girls out there that have information, good and bad.. I would like to hear..

He's a really good doctor. You should give them a call and talk to them regarding your concerns :)

Well, one anecdote - my wife went to him over the summer, and while there's still healing to be done (he says it takes up to a year to see the final results), the aesthetics are pretty impressive so far. Plus she was sensate from day 1, orgasmic (mostly-asleep, we didn't risk breaking it by having sex, heh) by week 3, and quite content as far as that goes. 5.5" of depth, which is his standard, but no trouble with dilation or using the largest dilator.

Personally, I wanted her to go with him because I *really* liked the idea of his aftercare... and I appreciated it all the more when I was considering that by mid-week she would have been sent home with ME to take care of. ;) The residence was fantastic; 24-hour nursing care and absolutely everything necessary was supplied. The downside was, admittedly, that the language barrier was an issue for us and some nurses were kind of brusque, but still competent. His actual office staff is kind of hard to pin down sometimes, too.

He's one of the best, but as far as our research showed there are others equally as good in terms of results, so for me the deal-maker was that he charges about the same price yet has the all-inclusive week of care after the hospital stay.

I went to him in July. I am really happy with him. I have about 6 1/2" of depth and the 4.5" circumference dilator is fine. My clitoris is still numb but I think that's an issue from pre-transition. I pee straight, it's healed with no need for silver nitrate. It looks good, still a little bit swollen. I liked his aftercare so, so much. Being at a place with 8-10 other ts all having the same surgery and going through what you are sharing a house is a positive experience. Montreal is beautiful in the summer. And it was $18,000 us dollars, not too bad.

From my own researches last year, I'm of the opinion that Brassard is certainly one of a couple-three docs who make up the very top tier of SRS docs around the world. I didn't go with him, (Dr Suporn here, another of the top) but many do and love his work. Good luck!
