So that's the name of a folder on the desktop of my computer. I never even thought about it before but there's this straight cisguy I've been hanging out with, and I haven't yet been willing to tell him I'm trans. I'm not even sure if he understands I like guys, even though I'm very open about my volunteer work with gay organizations and I'm not macho at all.
Anyways this guy has been using my computer for schoolwork a lot lately. I'm sure he's seen the folder. I don't know if he's opened it. I haven't had this laptop for very long so there's not much in it, mostly medical journal articles...I don't even know where I'm going with this. I don't have any questions. Just wanted to share the awkwardness I guess. I'll try to update if any drama ensues.
Eek.
It's for this very reason that I have set up separate login accounts on my laptop at home. That way, my kids can use the laptop to do their homework, and I don't need to worry about them looking at all the gay porn etc. ;)
You'll just have to hope he's a poor speller and thinks it's a folder full of trance music ;D.

You know I've always been so open about my orientation that it didn't occur to me, and my daughter has thus far had very little interest in the internet. I guess I'll need to start sequestering things in the future.
Padma you made me lol.
When people touch my computer, they lose limbs. >:(
Unless he's cursed with an insane level of curiosity or interested in that kind of thing, he probably didn't bother looking.

I think you might be grossly underestimating the average person's curiosity / nosiness level.
I would probably have looked in it because I'm suspicious of everyone and everything in general. But if he's still talking to you and borrowing your computer then clearly he's not bothered about it.
If you really want to know then put a folder inside titled "if you've looked in here let me know" :P

I suppose that's true. I'm one of those super curious people though I wouldn't have looked simply because I wouldn't have wanted to be caught peeking!
I would've been curious, but I wouldn't have looked. It's not my computer.
I think at most he would have assumed you were gay from it. Most people's minds don't automatically wonder if someone is trans, at least in my experience. Especially with trans men.
Too bad computers aren't like medicine cabinets...just fill it with marbles and wait for the noise... ???
It is perfectly normal to peek into things that aren't locked. At least, one should expect peeking to occur whenever something is left unlocked. That's why I have my own secured desktop.
I definitely would have looked :P
If he hasn't mentioned it or started acting weird then it's probably fine, maybe assumes its just gay activism stuff.
It would bug me though not knowing whether he had looked or not xD
This made me look at my desktop. I had a picture of two guys from a game shipped together ::). You could clearly see them on the thumbnail. I think that might would have been worse, but idk.
Also maybe he thought it was 'gay' as on stupid or something like a folder with your hate for trance music
I don't even keep stuff on my computer. The only thing that resides on my hard drive is the OS, and programs/related files. Pictures, music, documents, everything that I download or create is saved on a 64GB high speed rated SD card that leaves my computer when I'm not on it.
And I don't even have anything to hide....

This is not a bad idea.
He's visited since and not acted weird or anything so I've got the impression that he either didn't look or didn't care. He's pretty wrapped up in his schoolwork most of the time. And like caleb said it's true most people don't usually wonder whether a person is trans.
Thanks for the input guys.
FWIW this was also on the desktop but it didn't occur to me to see at as self-revelatory because it's clearly just silly:

It's funny. I have no reason to be particularly as I am single, but I am a bit paranoid of what goes on my desktop. Sometimes I put something trans on it, but I get rid of it pretty soon. I have a misc file that just about everything goes into.
