Here's a big hug! I love you more than the others! Hugs, Devlyn
Hugs back!
I see it as being somewhat pointless. I don't think anyone is going to change their minds, just likely to hurt some feelings when you discuss issues that are so close to so many of us in such an opposing manner.
In defense of those who do post on the political threads, I don't think the majority of them are intending to hurt anyones feelings. I believe they feel so strongly about the issue that they are hoping to sway peoples opinions. Just my take on them.
I do agree, from my point of view anyway, that they are pointless.

I've stated my opinions on it in that I don't care about voting anymore. I didn't even bother registering this election cycle. If people want to vote then knock yourself out. I just hate the self-righteous types that gripe about those that chose not to vote. It's annoying.
OMG! How can you not vote?!? What's wrong with you?
:P

I have not registered to vote in a long time. I have my reasons, and they are very valid. There is nothing wrong with someone who chooses not to vote. It is their right, and their choice.
I was just trying to be annoying, Brooke. :)

Sorry. I receive a lot of criticism in real life for not voting. I just took that a little too sensitively. My apologies.
I'm not registered to vote either, Brooke. Hugs, Devlyn

Yay! Another veteran who does not vote! We are a rare breed. ;D
Yeah, I always tell the "civic duty" crowd to sleep with an M16 for four years, then get back to me!

I simply explain some of my military history and they understand.
I spent my time in the service during Vietnam. I am registered and I vote. Not always happily, but I vote.
I've not commented as i'm in the UK, I will now wade in and say i'm sick of the elections in the US, they are possibly getting hyped up in the UK media more than our own elections!!

Just the other day after my phone had rung for the 16 time with political robo-call messages, and we had sat through the umpteenth political commercial on the TV we commented to each other about how nice it would be if we could get it all over with in just a few short weeks like the Brits.
Regarding those who don't care to vote, you are entirely blameless in my estimation for wanting to remain under the radar, I'm beginning to feel the same way too.
Depending on the outcome,it may not be over for a small number of us. (I am in Ryan's district and he also running for the House) If Romney wins we will have one more special election. Add into that we also have the recalls,we will have been going through this for almost three straight years. :P
First they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.
These arguments would be a lot easier if ya'all would just agree with me...LOL :-*
Apologies if anyone got all butt-hurt over anything I said. My post(s) were never intended to hurt any part of your anatomy.
*group hug*

Your all lucky you don't have to vote.
We get fined in OZ if we don't and this is for all levels of government.
The way I see it you are going to get a President, regardless so you may as well put in your 2 cents worth.
I had a friend from pre-Apartheid South Africa who said he would be happy to vote every day once he moved here, because he wasn't allowed to vote over there . He had the wrong coloured skin.
It's all over bar the squealing now anyway.
Karen.

Yup for more years of golf and endless vacations on the taxpayer's dime, lying, obfuscation, cover-ups czars, executive orders and congressional gridlock. What me worry? No, because the Mayan Sun god is coming on December 21st to suck planet earth back up into the cleft of the milky way which is the vagina of the universe from whence it all came. That means I won't have to do any Christmas shopping either, yippee! Mama, mama I'm home! ;D
Too bad you all couldn't sell your vote.
The running estimate is between $745-$1649.
I would've voted twice.
I wish there was more I could do..
It wasn't difficult to avoid politics here... I exhausted my love for frolic elsewhere. ;D
