Hi, so I'm having BA on the 29th of November. I'm excited but a little scared. For those of you who have had BA what was it like pain wise and how long before you could do stuff again. Are you pleased with your results? The nurse told me the number one complaint from woman is that they didn't go big enough!
Thanks, April

You know, for all my life I've been saying
"I don't like big boobs, small it's better" and
"If I was a woman, I would want tiny small non obstructing breasts". It's funny how I say the opposite of what I really think.
The main problem with a big BA for me is... That it would not be concealable anymore. Imagine I have not been able to develop a decent degree of passability, including the voice and after the BA I lost the ability to use the "boy mode"... It would be a living hell.
There is no "boy mode" for me so I'm thinking DD?......just kiddin! I'd like to be a C cup.
So my homework assignment was to find pictures of breast that look like what I want. Playboy lingerie addition is perfect! It's page after page of bare breast (very little lingerie).

You're so utilitarian ;D. For some men, you only need your breasts to pass. ;D
Pain? If I remember from 1999, as I purged most op memories, it was quite painful. I think I was doing stuff immediately, but very gingerly.

You know, I actually used to
read the Playboy Articles. Although that probably means I was not interested in other things that should be common as a teenager... In fact, I only bought it so that they would be "accidentally" discovered and make me look like a normal sexually hyperactive teen. In fact, my father wanted me to buy the Playboy instead of Comic Books...

I used to tell me that. I'm more concerned about back pain, I already have weak core and back muscles. I would not want to put them, to end removing them like Punky Brewster...
Hi Aprilrain,
Congratulations on making such a serious decision. Any form of body modification comes at a high cost, and I'm not talking money.
However I'm drawn to TessaM's comment about continued breast growth after BA. I don't know how long you have been on HRT, but I believe it's something you need to seriously think about. After all you are going to be replacing BA's every 8-10 years should all go well.
Be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
for me they went through the nipples to put mine in as the heeling is much faster this way. the first 3 days sucked as you have to really get use to things and the pain was so so. it was hard to sit up like normal. muscles you normally use ae not feeling well at this point. but i use the mummy way to sit up, put my arms out and raised up moaning haha. i had the minor morning boob pain every morning for the first two weeks. but after the first 7 days i really started to feel better day by day. i was even back doind mino work outs at week 4-5.
I have been on hormones for 2 years I'm pretty sure I've gotten what I'm going to get which is like a double A cup LOL! My Dr said if it ain't broke don't fix it If there is nothing wrong with the implant there is no need to replace it. I getting cohesive gel so they can't leak.
13 years and still going strong!
I ran across a tumblr blog called "perfect boobs" it's actually tastefully done and is a nice collection of all the shapes and sizes you can imagine :)
This has always been one of my big goals and I will try my hardest to make it come true when it's time!
Good luck April!!
Hey girl, Congrats!!! as I haven't had augmentation, so far a B cup, organically grown, I have close friends who had. Fact is, lipo seems most painful, then comes Breast augmentation, srs and lastly ffs. However everyone has their own pain threshold. One thing I have klearned from my Vietnamese dentist, lay off a coffee, caffeine lowers pain threshold!!!!!

You haven not had SRS yet. Your body may change way more after, and your breasts may get better (ymmv, however).

thank you for the lovely compliment!
Hi April,
I had BA in Feb 2006 after 8 years of HRT. I stepped it up from a small A cup to a full C. Mine are saline filled, under the muscle. First let me just put it out there.... it hurt like bloody hell! The way I've described it to others is that it felt as though I got shot in the chest with a cannonball. The first few days I could barely move. It was all I could do to get up and pee. The pain meds are all that held me together for those first few days. The healing process took some time. For a few weeks I couldn't lift more than 15 or 20 pounds. I had a lot of difficulty closing a sliding glass door for a while; something about the muscles involved to pull the door... well, I was very weak for a while. My car has a hatchback door instead of a regular trunk, and that door takes a bit of effort to pull down to close... I could not close the hatch for what seemed like 3 weeks to a month or more. Literally, I would be in a parking lot looking around for a stranger to help me close the hatch on my car. Eventually it got better, I got stronger, I survived. But OMG did that hurt!
That said, it was SO WORTH IT! I'm sure that the doctor told you that it will seem like the implants are just under your chin at first. I was alarmed in those first weeks because my boobs were sitting up so high. They gradually settled down into perfect alignment. Honestly, it seemed like it took six months or a year before I felt like they truly settled perfectly. They were in pretty good position after about 6 weeks, but they very slowly got better and better over about a year. My boobs did continue to grow over the years; I'm presently at DD, and I'm not heavy or fat (my waist is 26 inches, my boobs are DD... a little bit top heavy, but I get a lot of attention.)
I love my boobs!!! I'm glad that I didn't go any bigger. I would totally do it again! My body is hot. My boobs are amazing! My back is totally fine. (Of course, I do have a desk job, and I sit on a big inflated ball instead of a chair all day everyday; this keeps my back straight and my core muscles strong. I've been using balance balls in place of desk chairs at work for 11 year now. Strong core muscles will prevent the kind of back pain that some experience from big boobs. Just sayin'.)
Best of luck with your surgery. You are going to love your girls!
Peace,
Miharu
I read this post filled with jelly! You lucky girls (although luck has nothing to do with it and it's more about being brave enough and persistent enough to pursue your dreams, either way I'm soooo jealous)!
thank you all for your replies.
Miharu, thank you for your candid and detailed reply all i can say is OUCH! No pain no gain right?
Me...right now! :)

I knew a girl who got a C BA (ohh me... see what I did??! ... don't judge me) and they looked fan tas stick. Ugh I was so jealous! The only thing is.. you could tell because they were very round along the edges, but under a shirt... they looked sooo good, even without a bra.

Im wondering...what happens if you get a BA and your breasts keep growing? When would be a good time to go for the BA? I hear 2 or 3 years minimum after the start of HRT, but I hear girls say that they kept growing for years after that
I wonder the same thing because I have given ALOT of thought to getting BA next year.

you buy bigger bras
My friend had her BA right when she started hormones, which is not advisable BTW. She wanted a B cup, she is rather petite, but the Dr gave her Cs! her breasts continued to grow, I think they are almost a D now! Her boobs look fantastic and she loves them though she says they do get in the way of her washing her windshield at the gas station LOL!

Don't listen to that nurse. Huge boobs on a transwoman will get her clocked every time!
I think a "C" would be just right...and much better :)

WOW! nipples! LOL
They have always been like that :)
Like I say, I do have some natural female attributes that came from somewhere ;)
My surgery is on Thursday, yes this coming thursday! Im beside myself with anticipation though not looking forward to the pain and requirement of sleeping on my back for awhile!
wish me luck!
Best of luck to you.
Best of Luck! My sweetie is a well-known tattoo artist, and in that world they have a saying: Go Big or Go Home! Pretty glib, eh? but seriously, I went large and had NO regrets. I grew a bit more afterwards and in my case it was no problem at all. As in all things body modification-wise: Your Mileage May Vary. It all hurts, and recovery will take the time it takes. I just hope you live a healthy lifestyle, and do all the good things for self care you should. Don't smoke, stay away from carbs, take exercise, and look fabulous! Congrats and good luck!!

April, I'm sure it will be sometime before you can do a t shirt unveiling :)
Good luck ! And a quick recovery!! So many of us are very envious

It's probably a good idea to wait 2-3 years after starting HRT before getting BA in case there is more growth. After the BA and it makes your boobs look deformed if they are still growing.
I was going to have breast surgery today. I don't call it ba anymore because I had my ba 1,5 years ago but I had complications and have had many surgeries and treatments since then. Plastic surgery can be scary.. And exhausting.. And depressing.. I have a tissue expander now in one of my breast and today the expander was supposed to be replaced with an implant. Anyway, I was in my hospital bed this morning and the nurse was about to stick the infusion needle into my hand when my surgeon came rushing in and said: 'Stop! I cannot do the surgery. I don't have the implant.'......
He ordered the implant a month ago, but appearantly it never arrived. I wonder why they have to find out about that a minute before surgery.. My mum was so upset that she started crying. I tried to be overwhelmed by the stupidity of it all because once I start crying I have trouble stopping.
Of all the thing that have gone wrong and all the things that I thought could go wrong THIS was not on my list..
On top of it all my mum emberassed me several times by calling me 'he I mean she' to nurses a couple of times. Will she ever stop?
No, I didn't have a good day.
that really sucks! I'm sorry you had such a bad day and complications with your BA. I'm pretty sure my parents will always call me "he" : /

Mine will be downright dangerous when they get the premium upgrade :)
All I can say is OUCH!
My arms are useless.
I hope you've talked to the ladies at Nicole's BA forum (http://www.implantinfo.com/discussions/index.aspx (http://www.implantinfo.com/discussions/index.aspx)). They're a fountain of answers and generally do seem to substantiate what your nurse said about most people wishing they'd gone larger.
One thing to consider, though, is that most women's clothing is designed with the average bust in mind. In clothes shopping I've found that for my size, a C cup is about as large as I could be and still wear pretty much anything off the rack. If I was a D cupper I would be much more limited in clothing choices and would have to dress carefully for visual balance. Of course, I'd also probably never walk into a room again without having people stare first at my chest. That wouldn't work for me. I like to blend.
I, personally, would never BA. Having scrutinized, I suppose, images of thousands of breasts of all sizes (don't judge!) I've seen far too many implanted ones that look just like that-- breasts with plastic bags in them. I find the tiniest natural breasts more visually appealing than the best implant work I've seen. High quality BA work seems to be rather rare, because the vast majority, even among professional models, have obvious flaws. These flaws include over separation, merging in middle, ball-like shape, unnaturally high bulging, and other things.
I'd be very happy if the oversize bosom finally went out of fashion in our culture and people realized how wonderful diversity can be.

Bingo....Yes!
Done already? yay!!
Just take it easy so you can heal properly :) Then you can give us the details
Thanks everyone for your support and well wishes. I think I will be happy with what I got, About a C cup. I'll write more about my experience when I'm not nodding out with this iPad in my hand!
Painkillers are the best! I love dozing off post op.
Quote from: TessaM on November 29, 2012, 05:18:56 PM
I never took a painkiller in my life, however from what I have read im looking forward to the experience :p
After getting home my boyfriend accidentally double dosed me on muscle relaxers. That's 2 flexirils in the span of an hour! Between that and the vicodin I was compleatly zonked which was better than the alternative.
The pain s not bad as long as I keep up with the medication and don't move around too much.
So happy for you April :)
That's great to hear. I am glad you are doing well. I hope you will continue to have a good recovery.
So the most painful spot is kinda in my armpit on my left side, I think the muscle must have really been stretched out there. Or maybe I just use my right arm more so that muscle dosen't get as tight. The worst part about this experience thus far is just feeling totally useless. Try getting out of bed without using your arms! I know women who have had BA and SRS at the same time F$&@ that!
Well I suspect the worst of it will be today and then it will start getting better each day. I can't wait to see what they are going to look like once they are healed!
