I would have to do more research this but I am guessing that if started early enough it might.

This site indicates that changes begin at age 7!
7? This is sooo true :L not like "you have to start hrt really young " is being stretched out or nothing...
HRT will make your hips more padded, giving you a wider pelvis than you had before. But yeah, you'd have to be on hormones before any sex hormone related body changes would take place in early puberty. I didn't think it would be as early as 7, but by say 11 or 12, for sure.
I think your pelvis has a decent chance of widening. Starting at 21, mine did, albeit not much. You might not get the full effects possible, but I think unless you're unlucky, there should be something happening.
Say a 15 year old started, would it widen for them?
How do you check the width of your pelvis anyways,
without doing the obvious radiography? I'm curious, since
I'm suspecting my pelvis to be pretty wide for a natal male.
Might be wishful thinking though, that's why I want to verify it.
It's not just a matter of when you start HRT, of course. This is something that can vary greatly from person to person. I'm pretty sure there's nobody with a final answer to your question. I can say, though, that I've seen photos of many TG folks who started hormone therapy at different ages and I've never seen anyone who started before 20 who didn't look entirely feminine as an adult. It certainly often appears that they have wide feminine hips, too.
Just remember that most genetic females would rather have hips on the narrow side over wide, anyway.

Off the top of my head, I think the hip bone is mostly mature sometime between 14-16 years of age unless there is something retarding growth and development. So some mild changes may be possible in going on HRT in mid-teens.
Generally speaking, skeletal maturation in cis-males occurs later compared to females - if you look at growth and development charts, you'll find that males start later, and develop and grow for longer compared to females (hence the average male generally ends up taller than the average female).
I agree with Lyric. I personally think you should probably get noticeable growth down there. I got a tiny bit of it on a crappy dose, starting 6 years later, after all. But no one can tell for sure.
"A" at what age did you start hrt? if I may ask x
21 minus a few days.

It doesn't start at 7. But puberty can begin that early in girls.

It's very possible for this to happen. Our growth plates don't entirely calcify (and become incapable of further growth) until about 18-20.
I thought that was 25 for men. And since until we start HRT, our body thinks we're men, we should be able to "take advantage" of this, no? Well, it would be nice, at least.
