Title: New York City birth certificate change?
Post by: BearGuy on November 20, 2012, 12:07:17 AM
I was born in NYC but now live in Arizona. I'm on T, I have a letter from my physician requesting a gender change on my ID (which I still have to get done).

It says that a sex reassignment surgery is required in NYC. Does that mean top surgery, bottom surgery, or both? I want to change my birth certificate and social security so I don't have to be seen as "transsexual" but simply as male.

The law will probably be changed in the next couple years, but for now it requires a mastectomy and hysterectomy for ftms.

This seems absurd to me, but hopefully someone in NY can confirm.
