Hi i wanted to make a post to about my my FFS.Im not really sure how to explain myself to the doctor when i go down there. Is there anything i should be doing ahead of time to prepare?Im hopefully going have FFS with Dr. Lazaro Cardenas at the end of december.can anyone offer anything?
When I went to the consult with the DR I chose for FFS I had a pretty good idea of what I needed done but just let him tell me what he thought I needed done. I thought I needed some things that he didn't think I needed and he suggested some things that I wouldn't have thought of but otherwise we were pretty close in our assessments of my face. I pretty much had the works minus a lip lift. The one thing I was skeptical about were cheek implants but I deferred to his wisdom and now I love the way they make me look.
The only thing I would suggest is to just be as educated about all the different procedures that make up FFS and also understand that FFS is not a face lift its mostly bone work which really sets it apart from traditional plastic surgery.

welcome to the "Guadalajara Chicas" gang! You will be in good hands with Lazaro, phenomenal and respected FFS surgeon.
What I did, and do for others is Vffs which translates to VIRTUAL ffs. I have a site and provide service to Transwoman for VISUALIZATION of what needs and how needs be done.
This way you end up with actual image of what you want achieved rather then flimsy words which most of the time do not communicate entire needs and wants.
Let me kn ow if you would like to have VFFS done?
Hi i wanted to ask you did you have your FFS done by Dr Lazaro Cardena you look great
YEP ;D

the most important within FFS, at lest to me, seems factor of pushing the envelope as far as one can and at the same time keeping the natural and true look of that person's character, so that they do not end up like a plastic representation of female, as a caricature of sorts.
As you can see the girls here do represent good examples, however a lot bares on individual them selves, projection of brow-bone, profile silhouette, how masculine it already is.
For some, absolute femininity will be illusive and as I am finding out, FFS is really a several follow up surgical interventions rather then one step process.
I was extremely fortunate to have Lazaro do work on my face, but in order to achieve perfection I envisioned, it will still take couple more trips to Guadalajara.
Research and look at the results, and then talk to the surgeons hem selves, this is how I came to choose Lazaro over ones I have spoken with, he was the most human and sympathetic person I had pleasure to speak with besides seeing tangible effect of his work.
Good luck hon!

I am not trying to be rude but if he is such a great ffs surgeon why do you need to go back 2 or 3 times??
perhaps cost prohibitive?
you know what i didnt think of that im sorry
Not so much a cost, although it is a factor, but cranio-facial surgery means bone work, and 90% of the surgery is focused on bone remodel. He will not attempt, nor should any surgeon, attempt to do any soft tissue work since as soom as skin is cut into it swells and becomes not proportional. Any attempt at soft tissue work other then forehead and that is simply because of forehead advancement due to the cut necessary for forehead remodel, will result in bad effect.
A lot is in the character of the surgeon, Lazaro is one who will push the envelope only so much, and not take away more then he can put back. In other words, he will stop short of critical, it is safe, and as he puts it him self, you can always go back and take away another 2 mm however to ad 2mm when they are gone is way more complicated.
He guarantees the results so that you will be satisfied, if after nose job you want another 2mm further reduction, and if your bone will allow it, he will do the surgery for free except hospital pay. That is rather unheard of in this FFS industry.
Anyway, from your reply it seems that perhaps you would be better of with some other surgeons in the US, they work more in the American style of medicine. :) Good luck!
Hi Sydney,
Might I suggest you read this post before you do another thing. Then get back with some questions.

Be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs

the only problem with that post is that it was written by some one who was only 3 weeks post op! FFS takes at least 6 months to really heal and a year or more to heal completely.

And not to mention that they hadn't even started HRT!

If 90 % of the work is bone and he will not attempt how can he call it FFS?
who else are you considering?
I'm just curious about those of you who went to Dr. Spiegel: how much did you end up paying? I've heard $30,000 for "the works" from a few, but now I'm worried it's breaking the $40,000 barrier. I can swing the former with some hard work, but I think the latter is pushing it.
Does anyone have some input?
