I got an inexpensive rower a bit ago. This rower is the Body Trac glider. There is a seat on a glider bar. Here:

I've put a few hours on it by now and it is sticking and noisy. I have picked it up and turned it over. Nothing appears loose. Just guessing it needs lubricating. If I don't hear anything else, I'll do the glider bar. But maybe it should be something else. Anybody know what to do with this thing? Can't seem to find the manual, but I don't recall anything in it on this subject.
I like it pretty well and it's a good exercise for someone who does want anything jarring.
Thanks,

I suggest you remove the seat, clean the track thoroughly, and then clean and lubricate the bearings. A good lube to use would be something from a bicycle shop for wheel bearings (not automotive grease).

Thanks. Would never have thought of that.

SF, gotta tell you your suggestion was really good. Before I posted I was not going to remove the seat, but after your post I did this. I found out that the seat screws had worked themselves loose. I am pretty sure that some people have given up on their cheapo rowers since they developed problems like this. The bike lube worked nicely too.
Thanks,
