I have to get information about my medication and the surgery, so I've been scheduled for a full consult. Apparently, it's the easiest way to get a full 30 minutes to talk to the doctor. Busy busy person, LOL.
Kind of makes me nervous. I haven't even remotely gone anywhere in my transition besides dressing and chopping my hair off.
I can't start T until life settles a little and the baby is weaned, so my body is still very feminine.
I don't want people to see my body below my neck :embarrassed:
Plus I have to have someone take the pictures for me... :'(
When are you scheduled for?

This Wednesday. It's a phone consult, just a preliminary consult to discuss options, but I am supposed to send pictures of the areas I need help with. I'm looking into Dr. Garramone. I keep hearing wonderful things about his work.
That sounds very positive! I imagine it may be both exciting and daunting, so I'll send muchos vibes on Wednesday. Let us all know how you get on! :)
i myself woul like dr g. i talkd w him threw email n hesa sweet guy. so u'll b i goo hans w him
If you have a good-sized mirror that isn't mounted too high, maybe you can take the pictures yourself.

Ah. In that case...
I don't suppose your husband is willing to do it? Have you a close friend? Know any other trans people, maybe someone you trust in a support group?

Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear that :(. I'm going through a similar thing with my fiancé just now. *hugs*

I just hope yours doesn't include storage units and moving apart, with legal separation agreements and the like... :'(
Not yet, I've only been 'out' for a few weeks, and he's currently stressed but vaguely supportive, though it's a distinct possibility, given that he's a straight cis guy :(.
I'm sorry that things haven't worked out with your husband, and sorry if my asking has been upsetting.
Still, you're working towards being happier with yourself, and that's a good thing to be happy about.
My ex fully supported my desire to finally explore my transness in therapy...but he didn't support any body changes. I pretty much already knew that--it's one reason I put off transition for so long.
Take it a day at a time, or even an hour at a time. And keep coming back to Susan's. We'll help you to get through it.

Just put the camera on a table and set the timer. Problem solved. Hells no was there any way I would ask a friend to do it, especially when the alternative is so easy.

...I feel really stupid. I forgit I have something OTHER than a smart phone camera. I never use it anymore so I always forget I have it.
And a tripod....and it has multiple delay settings...
Yeah...I am a tart.
Thank you...

But you're
our tart, so it's fine.
I often forget about my 'real' camera too, which is daft, because it's a hundred times better than my smartphone camera, despite being about 8 years old.

I was going to suggest the Loren Cameron route, but not too many people have a setup like his. But problem solved, it seems.
My friend actually took the pictures for me. I couldn't actually find the tripod, and couldn't get the right angles.
Dr. Garramone called today to discuss my case.
I am needed the double incision technique...which I knew. My medication is not nearly as problematic as I thought it would be, and doesn't pose a barrier to the surgery.
He was very upfront about my body, and told me that I would require more than just the "ManSculpture" liposuction.
Apparently having two kids has left me with excess stomach flesh that can't be reduced by lipo, so I require a tummy tuck. He went over the surgery for that, the recovery time, and informed me that I can't have my thighs lipo'd at the same time.
So I'm left with a decision. Obvious baby pouch and thinner hips or tighter stomach and wide hips.
I'm going with tighter stomach. You can't hide a post baby belly, I can explain away hips to genetics or AIS. Plus., once I start T, that could change anyway with the new fat distribution.
Sounds to me like you've made the right decision. Do you have any further dates for the surgery?

I know the feeling all too well. Well, at least you know what's needed.
