Seriously, how do you all get through a weekend with your (unsupportive) family?
ARGHHH! is I think the best way to describe my reaction to having to spend so much time with my mother and her 'views'.
I get through it by choosing not to do it in the first place. Is that not an option?

i'm hoping they'll come round at some point? :/ my dad isn't even that bad, but my mother -
who is actually trans* herself- is just the worst.

Make yourself just as annoying as they are by refusing to stop educating them. Keep repeating:
* This is not something we choose
* It does not go away on its own
* Trans people do much better when they have the support of those that love them.
* It's not something we do for "fun". It's a recognized medical condition for which standard effective treatment exists.
Sometimes people have to hear things a bunch of times before it sinks in, even someone like your mother who has a lot of experience with it.
Good luck. Hope his helps.

This just boggles my mind. Have you spoken to your father about your mother?
I did as Arch. About 20 or so years ago. Not seen nor heard from any since.
I can't begin to describe how good that feels.
