Title: Has anyone used Zappos.com for shoes?
Post by: Autumn on May 08, 2007, 07:31:23 AM
http://www.zappos.com/welcome.zhtml

They offer free overnight shipping and free returns on all products, especially if they don't fit. Their products seem to have a lot of positive reviews and their selection is great.

I'm very tempted to grab my first pair of boots.

I've been very happy with them.  I wear a women's 11 and have not had a single problem with a purchase yet.

I LOVE ZAPPOS!!!

Ok can you tell I love that store.  I'm a size 13 and they are one of the very few places I have found shoes.  I just ordered the greatest little pair of heels and I love them.
And the free next day shipping is great!!

I have used them many times. Also sexyshoes.com as well as a place in Santa Monica called Maya's, they have a website as well.

Well, I bought these.
http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7269609/c/75970.html

They do fantastic things for my ass and the heel isn't too hard to get around in from what I just tried. Unfortunately, the toe injury I suffered (broke the joint where the toe attaches) a while ago seems to act up a little in them, which as I feared might prevent me from actually wearing heels for the rest of my life.  :embarrassed: One unlucky medical condition ever another that keeps me from what i want, sigh.

Unfortunately, the tops of the boots are WAY WAY too big. I wanted to wear these under my jeans, but even with my jeans tucked in I have a couple of inches of space. It might be because I ordered a size 8.5W (which fits my actual foot about perfectly with normal socks, but good god they're way too loose in the calf. Most of the negative reviews are "these wouldn't zip to the top"  :o

I'm very happy with the pumps I bought off zappos. They were well-made, chic, fit perfectly, and best of all were affordable. I'd link to them but they aren't up on the site any more. Individual styles come and go a lot.

I hadn't had time this week to mail them off, so I did it today. Was kind of sad to see them go, even though I only wore them around the house for a half hour or so.

Ran into a friend while walking to the UPS store, who gave me a ride. "Are they like, hardcore badass goth/industrial boots?" "Not quite."  ::)

Shame I can't afford the other pair I was looking at, right now. Stupid boots are expensive.

Those are some badass boots, honey. I can see why you're rockin those.

Well, I bought these.but good god they're way too loose in the calf.

I love tall sexy boots, but I hear this complaint all the time. In my case, I think I get loose-calf boots because I wear size 10. Maybe they assume any woman in a size 10 is fat. I'm just large and well-proportioned, but they made the boot with a bigger ankle and calf in mind. With my anatomy, my calves aren't any bigger than a GG's, but my feet are.

I have suede boots like that which I pull up while twisting slightly around my leg, and this reduces the bagginess. (It's like always having to pull socks up.)

On the other hand, tall suede scrunch boots are da bomb. When the ankle/calf area is made with way too much material on purpose, and it scrunches up in folds there. I love that look but you never see it any more. For example--these are cute: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/19304735/c/106.html

Autumn, Zappos is very good, I've ordered a lot from them. They are very good about return policy also.

Those are cute. Suede scrunchy isn't really my style, but I appreciate the look.

And yeah, return went fine. Got my money back, which I will be reinvesting once I can afford http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/19258398/c/3/g/women/s/7.html . The circumference is a lot smaller on then than most boots that I've seen, and where they fall on the calf should make it nice and snug.

Zappos is great.  I've used them a lot.  Some would say too much.  And by some, I would say my credit card.  Sigh.

I love Zappos. I usually buy the same shoe in different sizes and return those don't fit. They are terrific.

Autumn, I think those will look great on you.  If you are a size 8, you shouldn't have much trouble finding shoes.  BTW, I know someone who gets a discount at Sears.   ;)

Another Zappos fanatic here.  They're a bit expensive but the ability to return shoes without hassle is really terrific.  Especially for us taller gals (women's 13 shoe) for whom in-store shoe shopping is an impossibility.

Small bit of advice:  the "actual fit" discussions from the readers are usually pretty good as well.  So be sure to read them.

I ended up going with http://www.shoebuy.com/merrell-spire-peak-waterproof/159063 in 8.5M in the end. Zappos' boots were all way, way too big in the calf. And sadly even these are too big, but not sufficiently loose to be a problem like the others were.

They actually look a lot nicer in person than in the picture. They're nice and narrow, but not really pointy toed. At work most people thought they were just nice leather shoes because my guy pants are too long in the leg. Gotten several compliments by people at school/work on them. And they don't click-clack all over the place when I walk like several other pairs did.

However... it took them 8 days to clear the charge on my debit card. Careful if you order something from shoebuy.

Sears has the worst selection of shoes! >:D Terribly overpriced. Leather jackets, on the other hand, sears has some decent deals. There was a 90% off sale on one style of jacket on the website a few weeks ago, but I found out after it ended.
