Has anyone ever had, or heard of, anti-depressants affecting HRT? I'm not yet on HRT, but I hope to start soon. I am, however, on anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, and another med for ADHD. Are there interaction risks? I want to do this as safely as possible.
Thanks.
That's a question for your doctor. That's the only safe way to go. Hugs, Devlyn
Unfortunately with pharmaceuticals it is impossible to give a generic answer since the makeup of different medications that do similar this is different, and the mechanism of action is different too. A pharmacist should know lots about drug interactions, though your doctor (assuming you have one) would generally be the first port of call for these sorts of worries.
Also, lots of times at a store you deal with a low paid pharmacy technician who generally doesn't know much at all. Some states require no formal training for them in fact, so be careful too if you take advice from the pharmacy. Also remember the grapefruit effect, things not prescription can also interact.
Your Pharmacist should also be on the look up for drug interacting.
Def see your Dr.
Androcur which is a popular AA has a side effect of causing depression. You need good medical advice to make sure that you are safe.
Medics who treat TG people are used to the fact that we often have co-morbidities and need to have our meds carefully balanced and monitored.
Okay. Thanks everyone. :)
