Do I NEED to get a doctors referral in order to get into gender therapy? Cause I already know where I want to go

Hi Ali,

Sorry to be so vague, but a lot depends where you are on this planet. However the good news is, generally speaking no. If you need one, you can always tell the therapists secretary your GP will mail one soon.

Be safe, well and happy

It also depends on your health care policy, since you live in the US. I am guessing if you have a PPO or other kind of policy, no. If you have a HMO yes. I hate HMOs. Don't get me started.

Also your state has RomneyCare, so there may be aspects to this I don't understand. AFAIK, ObamaCare (which was fashioned from RomneyCare) would not rely on so-called "gatekeepers". Not talking re: gatekeepers for hrt, but gatekeepers for specialists.

No, you don't need any kind of doctor's referal to go into gender therapy.  Just call or email and set up an appointment..:)
