VM has just told me of this terrible event and I know she and everyone must be totally shocked and upset by this tragedy.
It is just so appalling.
If you are feeling particularly upset and emotional remember to look after yourself. If the events and emotions are overwhelming talk to people here and remember to contact help lines for support.
My heart and my love are with all my USA friends and colleagues and I pray that none of us are directly affected by this terrible loss.
May the poor victims rest in peace, and may their grieving parents somehow find comfort one day.

I would also suggest turning off the news...for a couple days at least.
I know that after the 9/11 attacks, I was glued to the tube...but since no one knew what happened, there was a LOT of conjecture and hoopla about the attacks. I felt, after a couple of days, that my mind and emotions were just being pummeled with information that would change by the hour.
Turn off the TV, focus on your family, your pets...and get caught up with the news in a few days, when *they* know what happened. No need to get worked up into a lather.
Best wishes to all, hoping for the best for all, *hugs*

As much as I don't like the news, I do like to be informed and have been watching the updates most of the day :'( It truly has been emotionally draining
Twice now the news has reported a shooting. Yes I want to know what happened. Yes it saddens me to no end. And yes it POs me to no end.
I send out my healing energies to the families of all the victims of both shootings, especially the parents of the 20 children. And I grieve with those families.

There's a difference between being informed, and having the life-energy sucked out of you.
