Hi bouncemasta, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 9301 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another member. (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

Maybe it's time to make room for your brother and new aunt, then! Admire them, they're being true to themselves. Hugs, Devlyn

Well, a transgendered person sometimes has to work through a lot of stuff on their own first, with no one to turn to. Think how long that messed with them. Give yourself time to think it through. And accept them for who they are. That's all they are looking for. Hugs, Devlyn

They are still the people you knew.  Just in a different package.  And yes you are still family here.  We always love having allies in our family.

Just because your 'uncle' is now your aunt, does not change you.  You grew up to be a kind person.

Have you asked her when she began to identify as a woman? Talking about these things is the best way to move forward. Hugs, Devlyn

Hey bouncemasta, I know it's really hard when those you love have kept such a huge part of themselves undisclosed to you. But sometimes they haven't come to terms with who they really are yet, or they need time to think about things before they come to you.  It doesn't mean that your relationship isn't as close as you thought, it just means they weren't ready to share yet.  This forum is a great step in learning to support your sister and uncle so I'm so glad you're here.  I am not trans either or even gay/lesbian, but my best friend who I've known since birth is. She is really the only sibling I've ever had (not biological, just by default as my family took her in while we were in high school after her family disowned her.)  Anyway, it was a HUGE shock when the guy I thought was like a brother to me was actually a sister :)  she started transitioning a year ago, and there's been ups and downs.  All you can do is remember they are the same person you've always loved, the exterior may change but that's not why we love them!  If you need anything please feel free to private message me.  This forum is great & will help guide you & become fast friends with others here.  Great to meet you & welcome.
