Title: Question
Post by: soulofthegypsy on December 17, 2012, 09:55:37 PM
Question for all the aspies: did you notice any affect of T on the syndrom?

This is something I'd be very interested in investigating. I'm not on T yet (seeing the therapist next month) but I'm curious as to whether T might help reduce my anxiety by eliminating those monthly mood swings.

I notice that my Asperger's symptoms are at their worst in the week before Shark Week. The hormonal shift makes it much more difficult to function, to the point that I can't even answer the phone or open my post.

As a pre-everything Aspie, I'd also be interested in learning about the effects of T. No idea where to start though.

All us Aspies seem to be pre-T, maybe we should agree to bring this up later. I am pre-everyting too. I have an endo appt. for March but am trying to find someone to see earlier.

I've heard aspies on T say that they've generally started feeling better because of the hormones and therefore they don't get so many of the bad effects from the syndrome. That's just what I've heard, anecdotal evidence and all that.

I'll get it in January most likely (unless communications fail, which they most likely will, considering how slowly this whole get-medical-help thing's been going for me...).

My partner is an Aspie - and we both noticed that his ability to understand neuro-typical word got much harder....
I fund this research - which explains "why". We are both devastated by it.....is so hard for him already, and now just got harder.
