I went to the doctor once about this, and she just said it was nerves but had no other suggestion for why my fingers get this way.
I feel like I need to pull the hangnail, and it irritates the heck out of me, it gets dry and red, and then it kind of burns, my hands and fingers feel warm and irritable. Does not happen all the time but when it does it lasts for weeks.
Anyone know what to do?
trim hangnails off close to the finger, with nail clippers. Then soak in as hot water as you can stand, without burning your self. Soak several times a day.
Use hand lotion to keep skin soft. Also handling paper with cause hang nails.
You can make a good hand lotion with "Corn Huskers" lotion and Campho-phenique. Remove enough lotion from the bottle to be able to add the Campho-phenique to the lotion. Shake well and apply to hands. Stings, but it works great.
Cool I will try this , thanks. I actually was clipping with nail clippers,
but I don't know what corn huskers lotion is.
I always yanked them out :P

Never do that. It can lead to infections.
