Last night I was determined to cut my hair, I even took the clippers out and was looking for an old towel. I ended up doing something else for a bit, when suddenly out of nowhere the power went out and was out for hours.
It's a good thing I ended up getting distracted, because I would've had about half my head cut by the time the power went out with no way to finish. :D
Should I take this as a sign from above that I should wait and actually go to a barber?
What? That God runs your power system? Who do you make the checks out to?
And few things look as home-made as a self-done haircut. You don't have ten bucks for a barber?

And we would have demanded a picture! Barber=hot lather shave, the best part.

Back when I had short hair, I used to cut my own hair all the time, it's not that difficult.
I didn't say it was difficult, I said it looks like crap.
Giving yourself a buzzcut isn't hard at all. The only thing missing is the aforementioned sharp line at the back of your neck. Did I mention how much I enjoy barber threads, or the barbershop scene from Gran Torino?
Oh dear, good thing u didnt start then  I always cut my own hair and always turned out good.

Yeah mine never turned out bad, and I used to cut my husband's hair every 2-3 weeks. I think it's possible to not do a crappy job if you have good coordination. I just hate dishing out $25-30 for a haircut every few weeks (I wish I could find a $10 haircut around here).
I'd say go to a pro. If you're worried about having to pay to get it cut so often just get it cut shorter than you normally would so it has a lot of time to grow out and keep your neck trimmed up yourself. That's what I usually do and only get my hair cut 3 or 4 times a year.

damn i have to go ever 2 to 3 weeks
I call my hair cut, "hair cut therapy". I used to dread getting my hair cut but now I like it. I am willing to pay $15 for a hair cut. If you have a cosmetology school near you, I think you can get one for free or a nominal cost. If you are comfortable going to a barber, I think they generally charge less.

From your pic it looks like you keep it super short. I don't mind my hair getting longish so I grow it out a bit before cutting it again...except in the dead of Summer. Gotta keep it cut or buzz it myself then. I'm lucky I have a huge head so it's not a big deal.
To the original poster.it can be taken many diffrent ways,if your a strong believer *like i am* i would seek somthing more personal as a sign.in the world around us,anything can happen but when its one on one-it can be more clear.so if you feel that maybe its not time yet,ask him to show you-tell you what he wants.but tell him to show you on a personal level *dreams and so on* but i wouldnt take the electric going out as a sign.

Yeah I was just joking :D
If that was a sign, it was a really lousy one-- what, wait for the electricity to go back on and proceed. The gods of the universe couldn't be less clear.
