So with the new year coming up for a lot of people, there will be a lot of fireworks shot.  How do you personally feel about them?

Fireworks were never something I got too excited about.  I think for me, they are a big waste of money and I am just literally burning money in the air.  I never used to buy fireworks and I don't think I will in the future.  I'm sorry, but when it comes to top surgery money or fireworks, top surgery will win out.  Heck, if it even came down to video game money or fireworks, video games would win out because they last longer. However, I do realize that some people like to enjoy fireworks with their loved ones and that's perfectly fine too.  I just want to know where you stand on the matter.  Do you buy fireworks or do you save your money?

Though, when I used to shoot fireworks, my personal favorites were the Roman candles and sparklers.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I didn't like them only because they used to terrify my dogs.

Now I don't really care. If people want to let them off, have at it. I don't buy them, or even have any particular interest in watching them.

I don't like fireworks. They can be misconstrued as gunfire and give an elderly person a heart attack. Plus, they're dangerous and noisy. Can't listen to music when people blow them off.

I like them, but I got hit by a stray spinner that flew off a tree, bounced off the ground, then made a b-line for me when I was about 7 years old. I don't have the scar anymore, but no hair ever grew on that part of my leg, so I guess it was a bonus. Still find them dangerous, but I like watching them from afar.

I love fireworks. Ended up being on a heat seeking anti aircraft missle system in the Army. Those things were serious fireworks.

I don't have any issues with them if set off responsibly, but I don't spend money on that stuff. My brothers were down for the fourth and they brought a bunch to set off. I just watched.

I like Gandalf's fireworks. ;D
Other than that, I like seeing them if I'm at a place where they are being set off and it's not winter, but I don't go out of my way to see them.

I don't really have an opinion on them... Except few days ago when people started blasting them off even if it's illegal before Dec 31st at 6pm. >:( Good thing our cat isn't scared of the banging and whistling, otherwise I would've been so much more upset.

Other than that, they're a waste of money but I won't complain if someone else wants to spend their money on 'em.

Loved shooting them off when I was a youngster, and I still enjoy them - but I sure don't care for them too near mi casa... we've had too many wildfires in the last coupla years, and I'm a bit gun-shy.

I  have grown to dislike fireworks due to the not too bright individuals who buy it days before new years and fire them at any time of the day until new years hit, and there's fireworks now and then throughout the whole day. It does a number on pets, who might be terrified and traumatised. I know of someone whos dog managed to get outside on new years. When they found her she was in a poor state, and while her injured paws from running in panick healed, her mind never did, and she had to be put down.  And then there are the wild animals who cannot be confined to a room by owners.

Not worth it.
