I'm having top surgery on Wednesday, 1/9/13. Yay.
Am I weird? I don't feel anything really. I'm not excited or scared. I am a bit nervous, but that's because I've never had surgery before. I tend to get like this around big things in my life. It's not until they're happening or have already happened that I get some emotion.
Aside from that here are some details: I'm having PACC (Periareolar concentric circle) or "purse string" and it'll be with Dr. Horowitz in Huntington Beach, CA. Total cost was $8950, $500 to hold the date, $675 for anesthesia, $1475 for the facility, and $6300 for the surgeon. Lots-o-dough, but in my opinion worth it. I payed cash for everything except the surgeon's fee which I paid with a Care Credit loan.
I'll post some pictures later to be helpful to anyone interested.
Congrats dude! You're not weird, but probably different compared to how most guys feel. I was the same way though. In fact even on the ride there I still didn't feel anything. I continued not to feel anything all the way into the OR. Maybe it was just too much to take in. I wasn't thinking about it much. Just wanted to get it done. I tend to put off thinking about a big thing until I really have to face it, but it all happened too fast for me to get the chance to "face it" when the time came. Just wait though, when it's all said and done there'll be plenty of excitement to spare.
Congratulations! You aren't weird at all. I've had surgeries for non-trans stuff and how I feel beforehand seems unrelated to the importance of the procedure. Sometimes I'm nervous and sometimes it doesn't matter until it's happening or afterward. I hope it goes well for you. :)
I dont think yure weird. I was estatic about my chest surgery and felt nothing about my phallo. Im happy and everything but i wasnt flipping out.
Congrats, dude!
So it is done.
I'm still pretty eh about it all, but I think it's just anticlimatic since I won't even get to actually see my chest until Monday when I head to my post op. I'm glad it's over though since I was super nervous when I had gotten to the surgery center and I'm just happy it went well. My doctor said he thinks it came out great, so that's exciting.
I wanted to post pics and some links of the NSFW ones. I forgot to take the pre op ones this morning, duh ::), so I'll just be using the ones I had originally sent to my doc and then the ones of me bandaged up yesterday once I got home. I also have one to show how I had bruised several hours since then. Once Monday rolls around I'll go ahead and post my awesome new chest!

P.S. Sorry if my blubber bothers you or my body hair, which really isn't that much I feel. Compared to my dad's anyway. :P
Congrats! You were really small before surgery and so lucky. I bet it's going to look great without the double incision scars. I'm jealous! :)
Yeah, I was lucky in that respect. I can't wait to actually see the results. I do know that it's possible for larger guys to get the same type of surgery I got. It's just more likely they'll need a revision, but I think it's worth it if you're willing to go through the cost.
Congrats! And yeah, you kinda live up to your name, Wolf man.
Can't wait to see the unveiling.
Dude if it weren't for your aureolas you coulda passed shirtless from the get-go, at least visually imo. I know that how it feels to the touch can be a different story of course. Great hair, btw.
I have teeny tiny breasts but I nursed for over a year and could no way pull off the kind of surgery you had. I'm jelly. Grats again. ;D
Thanks, Felix. My SO has said the same thing. I probably could've passed even with my areola size,
I've seen of number of bio men who have them at a similar size, but the only issue would be if I were to ever lose weight, which is a goal of mine. The men I've seen with areola my size have been due to gynecomastia issues or due to being overweight. So yeah.

so true, kinda looks like my dad shirtless. however you have more belly hair and he mas a bit more chest hair.
Congratulations!
Thanks you guys :)
I'm glad to hear that they didn't hinder me too much pre-op. Maybe I should've believed in my SO more when she suggested it. I still would've ended up here, but probably without all the worry I had inbetween.
Also, now that I won't have to be wearing a binder anymore I think my chest hair will start growing in more. I noticed that the spots where it's lighter are the spots that compressed the most on me.

You have more body hair than I did before transition. Tbh even pre-op with the kind of body shape you have they looked more moobish anyway.
Today is the big reveal. This is before my post-op appt. at 2pm. You can tell I'm still swollen (mostly on my right side) and I'm okay with the appearance despite that. It makes me think I'll be very happy once things settle in. Also, I have my beard progress after about 2 weeks of growth. I'm trying to see if I can have a beard before I get back to work, mostly due to strict appearance policy. I'm not getting much of a mustache though...
Anyway, I'm happy and here are my results of surgery and 1.5 years on T.
Here's my new chest:

Looking good. Congrats.

Anyway, I'm happy and here are my results of surgery and 1.5 years on T.
To be honest my exposure to the dude side has been almost zero, but let me be the first to say you are one handsome man :) that's a lot of beard to shave :)
Definitely a lot to shave if it doesn't fill in and I can't keep it.
And thank you. I don't think very highly of myself, so it's nice to hear others say so. :)
Looking good and congrats man!
Looks great and you have a lot less bruising than I have seen on some. Happy Healing!
You look awesome man, hope it continues to heal well!
Thanks you guys. I'm hoping my healing goes well too so I can get back to work.
Tomorrow I should be able to pick up a compression vest from my doc that I'll be wearing for about a month. I'm not too happy about another "binder", but I'm also not feeling this swelling anymore. I noticed today that when I rubbed the middle of my chest it squished, like when you squish around the contents of a ketchup packet. :eusa_sick: Another time it even sloshed. :icon_blah: My doc said it's just fluid build up and is normal and should resolve itself, but if it progresses then I'll have to go in to be drained. So yeah.
Congratulations, your chest looks great. Hopefully your healing continues to go well and the fluid clears up.
Really impressive man. I hope the post-surgical ickiness clears up and also that they let you keep your facial growth.
Looks awesome man!! Congrats on your surgery and good luck with the healing process!
congrats wolf man you look really good.
Wow, very nice results wolf man. Looks like very little swelling -- especially for how recent the surgery was. Hope you have a smooth recovery.
Thanks everyone :) I am most excited that by summer I will be totally clear to be shirtless!
Yeah, the swelling really isn't that bad, but it's so sore. That's what's really killing me. I'm just hoping it settles more in the next week since I work in a stock room for a store, lots of lifting and moving around. My doc had said I'd be fine, so I'm not too worried, but I feel like it has already been so long even though it's just going to be 1 week post-op tomorrow.
P.S. He changed the tape on my nips so they're not all bloody and from what I can see through it my nips look awesome ;D
LOL, im happy for you wolfman, i hope everything continues to go the way you want it
