Title: Androgynous Idols and Role Models
Post by: DrillQuip on January 16, 2013, 12:44:16 AM
Who are some androgynous people you look up to and/or admire?
They can be real or fictional characters.

My personal favorite is Motoko from Ghost in the Shell.

Most typically androgynous looking people leave me feeling isolated.

Current people, Tilda Swinton and Daniela Sea, every time. Otherwise, Amelia Earhart.

I <3 her so hard. She's my wallpaper on my computer and my iPhone actually. And I have the movies and the tv shows and the comic books. Yay for badass queer females.

In real life, Ivan E. Coyote is pretty awesome.

And Gwen Haworth, of course.

And I don't really know anything about her, but I love Erika Linder's style.

Viola from William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (if you don't know the story, she pretends to be a bloke for most of the play).

Andrej Pejic of course

Pete Burns lately has had some problems looking a bit artificial, but I still admire his "I'll be whatever I want to be and I don't care what anyone thinks about it."  He has a male body and identifies as male but has a female looking face (through plastic surgery) and wears female clothing.
