I was just thinking this!!

I remember the first time I took my HRT, almost to the minute!

Wow this is awesome hon. I really needed some happy news tonight. May I make a suggestion? Document your changes. Maybe take pics at different intervals? I was too impatient to do this and now I kinda wish I had.

This is a good idea.   I was glad I did, I doubt I would even have noticed the changes as they happened.

Just like Meghan said, you will not forget where you were when you started your medical transition.  Me, I slapped on a patch in the docs office, didnt even wait until i got home!

Thanks for all the congrats, everyone. I hadn't planned to post an update (It's only a couple days) but since you asked...

My doctor told me the dose he started me on was low, and that I probably wouldn't notice, anything, just a little breast tenderness.

He was wrong!

Yes, my breasts are tender, (though not to the painful stage where every car door is after them). I've noticed I kind of smell funny, or maybe am more aware of my smell that had been there all along.

Possible TMI Alert: And the experience of sexual arousal and release is really, really different. Visual stimulation did nothing for me (unusual), and I didn't feel much of an interest in trying anything else, but I was curious so I decided to see what my body would do anyway. I needed to stimulate myself with my mind, not just my body. It was worth it. Under my male endocrines, the less interest I had the less intense the sexual release. Doesn't work that way now... I didn't expect anything from the release . Boy was I wrong! The main difference is that it felt like something that was "happening to me" rather than something that I was doing. I look forward to experimenting further... [/TMI]

But the biggest effect of "vitamin E" has just been feeling amazingly happy. Don't know if that's a physiological reaction or a placebo effect, but I'll take it.

That's actually a very good way of describing intimacy...I *love* "being done", instead of doing...and when I "do" someone else, its not for my pleasure (although I do enjoy it ;) ), its for theirs.

Almost a separate thread. Sitting in my car outside of the Pharmacy where I had got my scripts filled, straight drive from the Dr's surgery! It was 2.28pm on a Tuesday afternoon.

My body smell was one of the first things I noticed, or rather my ex noticed when I first started HRT. I had been on for about a week and I had been doing an hour of cardio (I was making sure to keep of extra pounds!) so I was all sweaty (clean sweat, I promise!) and I stopped by to say hi to her and when I hugged her she got this really funny look on her face. I was like "OMG! What's wrong!" and she looked kinda sad and said "you smell different" and I was like "different bad? different how?" and she was like "you smell...it's like musty, like girlish or something, I don't know, it's just different." Then she started crying and we talked about how the changes will start happening and I'll probably start to look a little different after a while.

Amazing changes, Ag, here they come!

Congratulations on getting started with HRT! If you feel happy while your taking it, thats a pretty sure sign it was the right thing for you to do. I agree with the others on documenting the exact changes hrt does. It will be cool to look back on it and will help future women see what changes happen and when.
