Just wanted to know what you think. I'm nervous about using the men's room, but am at the point where I can't keep avoiding it. Not on T, but have had top surgery. Do you think I'd get looks or just pass as another guy?

coming from a passable MTF if i saw you in person i would probably look at you but would be too scared to do anything else because that's just how i am with cute cis guys xD

I doubt it you haven't seen what supposedly grown men will do to a gym restroom it's ridiculous! As for the picture you look awesome definitely pass! And Heather is spot on about guys in the bathroom, don't look at them, then you will have no problems at all.

This so much. If you want to use the men's room, walk in like you own the place, look straight ahead (don't make eye contact), and just do what you need to do. No one will give you a second thought.

I would say yes, I would eye you with a bit of suspicion, being an former marine. I mean you may start a conversation with some hardass marine combat vet in the john. I know you would get looks. Me(ie.me a former MOS:5811 military police aka military piggie) and my best friend(ie.he's a former MP/ 4th force recon marine team leader/current 0-5 USA Res. Lt Col), who are both gulf war era vets(1990-1991), he is a iraq combat vet(2007), would eye somebody wearing part of a uniform and really look and see what's that all about. Other than that, nope. Just the clothing.

Just saying, since my friend, tells me all sorts of scuttlebutt from the military, and knows I"m trans, and he does not want to accept it(ie.its on him),oh well.

The only real danger is etiquette. When men use the rest room, there are things you do and things you don't do. But it's all urinal use codes of conduct for the most part. Generally, go in do your thing get out. Men won't act strange if you don't look at them or talk to them, because frankly the usual response would be if you look or talk, they leap to the conclusion your gay and interested in them.
Don't forget to leave one urinal of space between you! I swear, when I pee next to someone, he looks at me funny every time! :laugh:

I don't see where you have a choice. You would get way more dirty looks if you tried to use the ladies room. Like everyone has said guys don't even look at each other in the mens room and if one did you totally pass.

There's a whole rulebook on this stuff complete with pictures of various configurations. It tells you which one is supposed to be your first pick when nobody is there, what to do if every other one is already in use, etc.
Lately I have been doing what can only be thought of as a form of olfactory prank at my local Tim Horton's.
I go there for my usual Hot Chocolate and when I leave I freshen up my perfume if I feel it merits it. I can only assume that any guy coming in after me is going to wonder 'why does it smell like a girl in here?'.
I can't fathom it being easy for me to one day use a ladies rest room. I can't fathom it being easy on anyone that has make the choice that we have to make. MTF or FTM, there is no difference in how we feel about it.
In a perfect world, I suppose restrooms would all be stalls and they would not be divided by gender and you would just not exit the stall if you had not properly adjusted your outfit.
Urinals though, they do tend to permit the male designed crowd faster entry use and exit if you have ever watched the turn over rate following a movie letting out in a large theatre. Women just can't operate at that speed.
