Title: Greetings and Salutations
Post by: LostInTime on October 28, 2005, 09:26:00 PM
I have been around for a bit, mostly just pop in from time to time.  I did have an account on the forum before the big incident as well but used a different name at the time.  So why the handle now?  I have always felt a bit out of time.  I was raised to be a gentleman and that is something that seemed to me, while I was still trying to live as a guy, that women today just did not want.

I am a male to female transsexual, surgery as soon as someone is kind enough to donate the cash.   :P  I actually have a decent job but I helped someone out a few years back (who had helped me before, in a major way) and now I find myself unable to afford surgery until the bills are paid.  If I am lucky I will have surgery five years from next so 2011 and at the ripe old age of 40.

Life since transition has been life.  Transition is not a cure all although I am mostly happier than I was before.  A social life is a new thing to me.  And having many friends is different for me too.

I guess I will continue to share what little wisdom I have gathered and will try to make even more friends here.  :)

If you want to know a bit more detailed account, you can follow my homepage link in my sig.  No, not a pay site or anything just Geocities.  It's just that I am currently writing a pretty big biography there at the moment and it is way too big for here.

Guess that is about it.

Welcome back,

It's so good to see old friends return.  I'm sure you will notice a few changes here, hopefully if you do that they are all for the better.  I know that you will meet old acquaintances and no doubt make new ones, and i know that we always welcome new ideas and views.  So just pick up where you left off hon and "pop" in more often, you know this is a comfortable place to be.

Chat later

Steph :)

Thanks to the two of you.  :)

It has been amazing to watch more than a few of the members blossom.  It really is something very amazing whether you are experiencing it or just watching from the sidelines.

Hi LostInTime,

Welcome back. It's good to here from you again. Don't stay gone so long. Wish you had a name that wasn't three words though, I keep putting spaces in when I type the handle.  ;D

Good Journey,

Cassie

Thanks.  :)

Well just Lost would be very apt.  LOL

Also the run together I could blame on the DOS days but the name is still too many characters long for that defence so.........that's just the way it is.  :)

Hi Alex!

Nice to meet you too.  :)  Love the avvy you picked out as well.

Question--what is the genesis of the question you put forth in:  Chi ha il coraggio delle idee?

Hi LostInTime,
to answer your question:
Since you're interested I assume you know Italian, but for those who wonder what it means, I'll translate anyway: "Who has the courage of ideas?" It's from a song by Renato Zero (like the quote in my signature), who has been described as the Italian Bowie. We all have dreams, great and wild ideas, but how little of that do we actually make true? The poem Leigh posted "who are you" (poetry section of the site) asks a similar Q. I guess I'm trying to see if I have it in me to live my life in such a way, that I am able to answer that question with a "YES!". LOL if I will succeed remains to be seen. And I've definitely seen people on this site who have shown that courage in their lives... so maybe is it also a tribute to them. How amazing is it if you can say that you live with the audacity and vision of your dreams?
About Renato Zero: his music means a lot to me, many of his songs touch me deeply. I discovered him on TV by accident, years ago, and was hooked immediately, on the music, and his personality. He looks exactly like a character from a recurrent dream I had when I was a teen (maybe I'll write more on that dream some other time). And he's very good at resisting labels people try to stick on him, he has had a very long career (starting in the seventies) and has never succumbed to pressures from the media to declare his gender/sexual identity. He has achieved the kind of freedom that I dream of. That is one of the ways to read my signature quote (freely translated: "The words I have not spoken are a space of endless freedom").
[And, yeah, I wish I looked like Boreanaz... but um... I think I'm not the only one here who chose that pic, so I'll try and make my own soon...]
Saluti,
Alex

Alex,

Thank you so much for that wonderful reply.  :)  As for Mr Angel, he was cute in the early Buffy years but that last season of Angel he looked fat and aging not gracefully.  It was nice to see that he thinned out a bit for Bones but that show, for me, is a big bore.

so true about Angel... that's why i need to change the pic, I don;t want to age like that, end up boring everyone with the gloomy act... but he did start out good in buffy
